On his decision to end $500M worth of research on mRNA vaccines, RFK Jr. said:
“The the data show these vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu”.
These vaccines saved 3.2M lives in the U.S.
He is running a disinformation op against Americans.

As I report here for @motherjones.com, a local lawmaker in LA says ICE showed up to a confidential domestic violence shelter. That’s just one of the many impacts they’ve had on shelters & survivors this past week ⬇️

There is one place, however, where Musk, with the help of his minions, achieved his goals. He did indeed shred U.S.A.I.D. Though a rump operation is now operating inside the State Department, the administration says that it has terminated more than 80 percent of U.S.A.I.D. grants. Brooke Nichols, an associate professor of global health at Boston University, has estimated that these cuts have already resulted in about 300,000 deaths, most of them of children, and will most likely lead to significantly more by the end of the year. That is what Musk’s foray into politics accomplished.
Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty.

More than 295 million people faced acute hunger in 2024, with the outlook ‘bleak’ due to funding cuts for aid efforts.
What the absolute. 1) A valedictorian earns that spot. It's not a privilege. 2) He was using language used by the ICC and other respected global bodies. No lies detected. 3) Higher education needs to remember one of its ket functions in society: platforming well researched and grounded views.
Canceled travel plans, deleted social media profiles and applications to transfer to universities in Canada or Europe. International students at U.S. colleges and universities shared how the Trump administration’s immigration policies have affected them.
Again, Christianity offers no alternative by which we can turn away from such cruelty.
We are condemned by our turning a blind eye to the need of others to food. Christianity offers no alternatives that allow such callous cruelty.

A reminder: Both sheriffs and local police have the right to refuse ICE detainers. These requests are voluntary and not legally enforceable under federal law. Across the country, many sheriffs and police departments choose not to cooperate and that choice is fully within their legal rights.
Even *if* you accept Stephen Miller’s (textually, historically, and morally indefensible) claim that undocumented immigrants are not entitled to due process, you’d *still* need due process to ensure that the individuals at issue are, in fact, undocumented.
His argument fails even on its own terms.
He's going to be really surprised by how much chaos AGI is actually able to tolerate.
JUST A FACT…👇
Any Questions?!
A photo of the Terrorism Confinement Center prison in El Salvador. The text reads: "Behind Trump's Deal to Send Venezuelans to El Salvador's Most Feared Prison." Photo by Jose Cabezas/Reuters.
The New York Times pieced together President Trump's deal with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador to imprison “convicted criminals” in a feared Salvadoran prison. But many of the Venezuelan men labeled gang members and terrorists by the U.S. government had not been tried in court. nyti.ms/4jygTyl
Andry José Hernández Romero
Andry José Hernández Romero, I remember you, even if I do not know how to articulate my horror, rage, & sorrow at your treatment by my government.
No one has heard from you in 43 days.
As vigil, I’m posting a photo of you every day until you are returned from El Salvador.
Important work and coverage here by ACLU. Please support them. If US citizens are forcibly removed from their country of citizenship though it is something worse than a deportation.

Fantastic! Yes! We are doing a day (which is turning into multiple days) of virtual advocacy at the MA State House. So far so good. Lots of interest and ideas from MA lawmakers on how to resist federal attacks on higher education.
A coalition of Jewish groups warns that the Trump administration stripping international students of visas under the guise of fighting antisemitism actually makes Jews less safe and undermines the rule of law.
