It was quite a while ago, but I haven't forgotten in part because occasionally something on social media refreshes the memory for me. It could be that person popping up in my feed via RT, it could be someone else doing something similar...

I don't *exactly* know why I am sharing this story today.

Then, once they were made aware of their fuck up, they basically shrugged and said, "Wewps!" without even a hint of apology while their followers continued to harass my friend because they hadn't seen the 'Wewps' post buried in tons of misinformed outrage comments.

Once upon a time I watched someone with a huge social media following sic their followers on a friend of mine because they hadn't bothered to understand the complexities of a situation and just bleated about it anyway.
