Awaiting their Feast looks at Latinx food activism and the desire for latino labor alongside the animosity towards latino immigration. It focuses on the Northeast with a considerable amount of time on Maine. It is a fascinating read. 4/4

To the Medellín conference, which sparked a recommitment to the poor (Pope Francis was informed by this) and to influence on Latinx civil rights and farm worker movement. It also nods to our current times and ICE, though was written to nod to the last Trump administration. 3/4

New from me for @science.org: A major planetary science conference will require submitted abstracts to comply with Trump's anti-DEI executive orders.

This conference, LPSC, is a big deal. It's been running since 1970 and is one of the biggest planetary science conferences out there. 🧪🔭

Our book was highlighted today!! Crowdsourced advice from lots of people. It's like having several mentors. Great for high school students thinking about majoring as well as all levels of Undergraduate.

...is harder than it looks & doing it effectively is a talent that has to be practiced and honed. The future of #democracy and civil discourse demand it.

The thing that keeps me teaching still is knowing how important this work is and being part of it.
