The rift between herself and Rhaenyra is never mended, especially not after Rhaenyra becomes a mother herself. Alicent often states that Rhaenyra's children by Laenor Velaryon are not his. Rather, she declares them bastards, a bone she will gnaw on for years.

She is eventually chosen as Viserys's second wife and a rift emerges and grows between her and Rhaenyra. This is more defined after the birth of Aegon. Alicent knows she has few friends at this point and wishes to go back to just being known as Lady Alicent rather than the queen.

Alicent Hightower is the daughter of Otto Hightower. She has a brother named Gwayne. She is also the best friend of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.
