There's only one good planet for humans, and it's perfect for us. It's also perfect for tigers and tree ferns, hellbenders and hellebores. So many wonders. The greatest lie ever told is that we left the garden. We've damaged it, but Eden is so resilient if we give it half a chance. Happy Earth Day.

This is why I disliked the UK government's switch supplier approach in the past - it didn't actuality improve the customer's energy efficiency.

I’m Chris Mason BBC Politics Editor, paid £270,000 a year to completely impartially report UK politics

I report my opinions as the news, because what I think is what really matters

I ignore LibDems as irrelevant, Greens as weird, Tories as spent force and push Reform as the answer

I am impartial❗️

Definitely a failing viewership. Facebook etc only have themselves to blame, by pushing too many adverts / groups / news stories, they have lost the core purpose of "social networking".

Also if they face facts and make the roads safe for pedestrians & cyclists, they could probably save money by not needing 24x7 security.

What happened to the automated pods in Greenwich? The trial was in 2018 and they only seem to be at Heathrow now.

This bit is particularly odd:
"Do Speed Limits Make Roads Safer?
Road safety experts say the answer is yes but only when limits are followed."

Brompton bike set against a view of the Medway valley.

Bluebell hill was a great view though.

Yes. Although we should have gone down to the Medway valley - instead we got lured in by the NCN17 signs which involved going uphill next to the busy A road, and then a sketchy downhill through woods and blocks on the HS1 access road.
British national cycling routes vs Netherlands!

I wonder if the same could be true for many household heating needs e.g. dishwashers and washing machines.

Actually it is as fast on the induction and you don't need to transfer the water. Also you've heated the pan.

Nick Robinson on the Today programme this morning was quick to repeat a misleading line about why we should support new North Sea oil & gas extraction in the UK on the grounds that it's MUCH (4x) cleaner than importing LNG. It's incorrect on several grounds: 🧵

Aghh #BBCR4Today "drill baby drill" no acknowledgement that it will take years before any Roasebank & Jackdaw fossil fuel is produced.

I agree with more renewables, but why does it need the 'world leader' part? Wales is never going to have more offshore wind than the North Sea or solar power than the Mediterranean.

I'm not saying it can be fully fixed with software controls, but it can certainly be improved. And you're right, if LLMs are so brilliant, then why can't they filter racist, harmful stuff.

Please put the onus on the social media companies, rather than banning it for under 16s.
Much of this can be fixed with software controls, that those rich companies have chosen not to implement.
