As the year wraps, I took a moment to reflect on the creative work, collaborations and momentum that shaped the past year—and what I’m carrying forward into 2026—in a new blog. Check it out! www.agpickering.com/post/reflect...
And Happy New Year, y’all!✨

What a great time at Los Angeles Comic Con! Had a blast exploring all of the talent and energy on display from artists, writers and creators alike. It was an honor to represent Sun Hero Mag and share more about my upcoming comic series HEARD.

Always a surreal moment when a new student says they’d already watched FIG before realizing I was their professor. Still humbled that this short—written by yours truly and directed by Ryan Coogler, once on HBO and now on @kanopy.com—continues to find an audience.

We’re Finalists!! So grateful to be among the 15 other amazing projects selected for the finalist round of the TV Pilot 📺 Screenplay Competition, alongside my cowriters Matt Breault & Wynna (Lea) Breault!
Huge thanks to @outscreenplays.bsky.social, and congrats to all the other writers! 🙌
As always, we’ve got the raddest emerging voices, repped writers, and stories from underrepresented voices. This is truly a marvelous showcase, we hope you enjoy it!
Industry members can request screenplay adaptations, general meetings, & full comics!
Honored to see HEARD featured as an official selection for The Stunt List's 2025 Splash Page—a showcase of standout upcoming comic books & graphic novels! This survival thriller, inspired by my son and shaped by themes of neurodiversity, has been a true labor of love! #StuntList #scriptsky #comicsky

@kanopy.com—one of my proudest writing projects from my USC MFA days, directed by the one and only Ryan Coogler. Originally on HBO, it found a final home on Kanopy. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. It still means the world to me.🎬

Four panels of comic book artwork for HEARD. The top two feature the character Owen using his iPad to draw constellations while his family watches. The next one down shows an SUV parked in a wilderness. And the final panel features Owen looking out the window of the SUV.
Today is #WorldAutismAwarenessDay, a reminder to listen, understand and create spaces where every voice matters. I'm so proud of my son, diagnosed with apraxia of speech & non-verbal autism at an early age, for all his triumphs—including inspiring our upcoming comic book series HEARD.
Chatting with this group was a blast. Mentorship & sharing my journey to help others is a major priority for me. I’m still building my own career & no where close to my ultimate goal, but I can share advice I wish someone did for me as an undergrad TY @alexgpickering.bsky.social! #postsky #postchat

Matt & I have been fortunate to place six times in the Nicholl Fellowship, reaching the top 50 SFs, which led to meetings and option deals. It's an amazing resource. I don't know how this news will affect it in the long run, but I do worry when limiting factors are put on the submission process.

It was great chatting with Emmy-nominated editor @coreyfrost.bsky.social in my Video Editing and Post-production class. He shared amazing insights from cutting sports docs and series to crafting compelling narratives, including the recent feature film Grace Point. Thanks for inspiring my students!
Thanks, Sam!
I'll have to check that out, thanks.
