So you have until the end of the month! Monday! To get those suggestions in for the Chesley. Your work, artists you admire, anything shown last year is eligible to be suggested! asfa-art.com/news/2025-ch...

The last two categories are best art director and lifetime achievement award. The best art director need to be for work in the year of eligibility. And finally lifetime achievement is based on what the artist has done in their own work and for the community over their career.

Chesley eligibilty- 3D. 3D can has to be displayed in the year of eligibility. Sculptures and other mixed media pieces but also fabric and jewelry fit into this category.

Chesley eligibility- the unpublished categories. These two categories we need to be able to see they were created and/or shown in the year of eligibility. That can be at a convention, online, in an annual, etc. Something produced to display and not part of a paid job.

Continuing on with categories for the Chesleys- Product. Product is for art to promote a product. Poster for a convention or movie, beer can labels, etc. again it is based on year of release.

Next in the eligibility for the Chesleys- Gaming related category. Gaming related is everything and anything gaming. Lots of Magic cards in the category but any art is eligible. We need to know when the game/card/item was released or published to be eligible.

Part 4 on Chesley eligibility- Interior Illustration. This is for images illustrating a story. Not for images in art annuals. Reactor magazine story images also fall into this category. If the book is gaming related it will fit in that category most instances. Also based on pub date.

A little series on Chesley eligibility by category. Magazine- it can be online or print. Also comic book covers fit into this category as well. As with other categories we need to be able to verify publication date.

A little series on eligibility for the Chesleys by category. Next, the paperback category. It is based on published date or shipping date for a kickstarter just like hardback. This can also be self published books or small press. We have to be able to verify date of publication to be eligible.

A little background on eligibility for the Chesleys by category. Best hardcover category is a bit self explanatory, it needs to have been published in the eligibility year (2024) as a hardcover. If a kickstarted book it needs to have shipped to customers in 2024.

The Chesley suggestions are up and we invite one and all to suggest works of art in 2024. You don’t have to be a member or an artist to suggest art! You can suggest your own art as well, one piece per category please! Suggestions close at the end of March!

Our new award - Artists are shamans, creating and expressing visions that propel the world's imagination. Athena is the symbol of wisdom, war, and the arts - the muse that sparks those new visions across space and time. Nekro created and designed this icon, as commissioned by the ASFA President.
