PSA: while Bluesky servers are down, if you're on a non-Bluesky PDS like Eurosky, you should be able to access *some* things using a combination of:

- Blacksky webapp, which uses their separate AppView: blacksky.community
- RedDwarf, which uses microcosm + raw PDS access: reddwarf.app

I resisted for ages and said "look, here's a button you can press to create a tag whenever you want" but people wanted automatic, so the compromise was CC to get the right SemVer tag :-(

I don't like CC, but I relented and went with it for a new project at work. I wanted to use SemVer but our tooling does "continuous" versioning by default (v1, v2 ... v1024 etc) and people are used to versions being created on merge.

Nice on the sysctls 👌🏻 I like to avoid the overhead of TCP on localhost where I can. A certain orange-flavoured CDN uses UDS between some of the proxy instances, and from the proxy to the logging pipeline.

Ooh, that kind of systems debugging is right in my ballpark. Reading through I had a few thoughts: have you tweaked things like net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range and net.ipv4.tcp_tw_reuse? (I think that's right off the top of my head.) And would using a Unix socket for memcache work rather than TCP?
