Phainon notices him absentmindedly following the sun-pattern of his gilded belt over and over with his fingertips. Phainon tells him all of these things: the losses and the mulberries, the unrestrained laughter of childhood, falling from the height of a tree and breaking his arm bone, the market stalls that traded in oils and lamb’s meat, the temple to Kephale fashioned out of white marble, standing like a singular light amidst aged homes. Mydei listens silently, except when Phainon recalls Cyrene carrying him on her back as he wept loudly enough from his injury to send the birds scattering into the sky. He huffs a restrained laugh, but even then he does not look at Phainon, who continues to speak. He brings Mydei to his sparse memories of the inside of Kephale’s temple, the vines fashioned out of marble and gold wrapping around pillars, catching the light of the ever-burning torches. Not once did Kephale’s temple ever sit in shadows.

i also just think it's disrespectful.... like why should i put hours into evaluating your work if youre going to plug mine into a genAI bot??

i do have a professor who is very pro using chatbots to give feedback and it kills me i was like please don't do that to my work actually that's not why we pay money to be here

me and several other classmates are all like ? surely this is like at least "polished" by a bot the tone of the writing, the questions, etc. everything is very like... chat gpt voice

they've been using it to respond to people's work.... and it just feels super obvious because of the way they bold words and group ideas together disregarding questions the author asks about their own work
