i just realized: this is it. this is the millennial and gen-z version of kitschy facebook memes that do huge numbers with boomers that show an AI version of an idyllic white suburban family in eisenhower america and says something like "this really happened. dont let them make you think youre crazy"

Literally one of the top posts on Reddit right now is people being nostalgic for how Chipotle was “cheaper” 9 years ago, and life was better.

Again: for any big liberal donor who wants to funnel millions into fixing this country's politics, the ROI on buying any struggling paper and simply tasking it with doing real reporting on local news is vastly higher than the same $$ given to some group that does mass ad buys every election year.

I hope they will also be painting the new protected bike lane too. Right now it’s basically used as another sidewalk/storage for the construction crew

really I think it should be remembered by more people that if Yglesias and the Welcome set had their way Kilmar Abrego Garcia would still be rotting in CECOT and wonder fairly about both their political savvy and moral boundaries.

Can confirm I was hearing this in college in like 2018-19, which apparently everyone is nostalgic for.

(I graduated in 2020, which was just lovely! But it all worked out thankfully)

The NYT says it is committed to publishing a diversity of viewpoints in the opinion section. Yet the paper has published a dozen articles in the past year about why Dems have to move to the center to win, and few about limits of this thinking or more optimal strategy www.nytimes.com/2026/03/16/o...

Unfortunately, he said he would support Hakeem Jeffries as leader. Pretty disqualifying for a House candidate. I think he's great otherwise, though.

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.
