I took this picture in Climax on 3/13/2024!
A while ago I made a 'slop factor' for fun based off the ratios between TD/TS/HU/MH
You can just make an account I believe

Another blow to meteorological R&D this morning, as it was confirmed that NSF is terminating funding for its main weather and earth science focused AI research institute led by the Univ. of Oklahoma. Also - a LOT of weather to talk about, especially in the West. More: https://tinyurl.com/mr2znbdb
Important weather science news tonight: NOAA has canceled procurement of the next phased array weather radar R&D instrument. Along with the obvious blow to PAR weather research, it is consistent with other moves by admin to push forward quickly with NOAA cuts. More: https://tinyurl.com/my8hx8j6
Finally pushed a full 1.0.0 (not release candidate) to PyPI and conda-forge.
This also means that:
mamba install sharplib
conda install sharplib
Work now (assuming you have conda-forge set as your primary channel).
There is also now a Dask/Xarray/kerchunk example notebook for HRRR data!
Even in lieu of tornadoes, Oklahoma gets it done... May 28 2025

BREAKING from @science.org: The Trump admin is seeking to kill nearly all climate research at NOAA, its climate science agency.
Its near-final budget proposal would end all NOAA research labs, academic institutes, and regional climate centers. And it wants to fully end the NOAA Research division.
I’m keeping a running upperair observation status page on my website.
I have additional metadata like reason for degradation, degradation type, when the degradation began, etc. In a coming update you will be able to read those things by clicking on the site.

“Craig McLean, a former NOAA chief scientist who said he got information from a person with first-hand knowledge, told The Associated Press that as many as 1,300 people will be fired in two rounds, 500 Thursday and 800 on Friday. That’s about 10% of NOAA’s workforce.”
Sick! Thanks so much.
Is there a higher resolution version elsewhere? Some tracts are so tiny!
I’d like to offer a subtle improvement
Congrats to the National Weather Center on their big victory over the National Water Center tonight
Meteorological eye-candy. Close-up view of the 955mb low deepening this afternoon off the PacNW coast.
Committed 20 yards of penalties with 1 seconds left to set up a game-winning 52-yard FG. Holy smokes. Another thing I don't think I'd ever seen.
Having OCD sucks a lot*
*except when I'm making a 4 bit adder/subtractor on 2 breadboards with about 50 wires
A confluence band + strongly backed mid levels + high LL SWV have produced this tonight:
that is a 1994-1998 Daihatsu Hijet and its bed has 3,740 square inches of cargo space. The Cybertruck has 3,672 square inches of bed space
