Thrilled to share that I've been awarded summa cum laude for my philosophy PhD on the phenomenology of psychedelic experiences. What a journey it's been in the birthplace of LSD...So grateful to all the friends made along the way who supported me!

New co-authored publication on the recreational use of psychedelics! We critique prohibition, decrim, and legal regulation. We instead argue for 'communalization,' emphasizing individual freedom and community support.

The ancient psychedelics myth: ‘People tell tourists the stories they think are interesting for them’ The narrative of ancient tribes around the world regularly using ayahuasca and magic mushrooms in healing practices is a popular one. Is it true?

People often claim psychedelics have been used globally, for millennia, & in rituals of psychological healing.

In today's Guardian Long Read, I show what these stories get wrong & why the reality is far more interesting: www.theguardian.com/science/2025...

There is a non-binary speaker, and a female speaker cancelled her engagement. In any case, the gender imbalance is a real problem in all scientific fields including this one. And yes, Switzerland is very white indeed...

Excited for my first time speaking @breakingconvention.bsky.social next week! I'll be speaking about 'contraction of consciousness' as a neglected aspect of psychedelic experiences.

Benny Shanon, one of the pioneers of modern psychedelic research, has recently passed away. If you haven't done so, check out his book Antipodes of the Mind, one of the most influential and beautiful books I have read. May his contributions carry forward in our work and explorations of consciousness

The second most important thing is that just because an idea is yours, that doesn't make it not stupid.

Would be an interesting project to see how artistic features correlate to experiential features for sure

Great article! I'm a huge Meshuggah fan too. Do you think there are a set of general features that might characterise 'psychedelic style' art, albeit music or visual art?

Unfortunately not, sorry!
