Worth noting that just over a week ago Trump posted that the Iranian navy was completely obliterated, aside from a "small number" of "fast attack ships" because they were not considered "much of a threat". An IRGC Gun Boat was used to capture the vessels now moored of the Iranian coast.

Accelerating food inflation was an obviously inevitable consequence of Trump’s campaign promises. It’s something everyone of higher-than-moron intelligence who voted for him knew and accepted. I’ve been surprised that we haven’t experienced staple shortages yet. I expected empty shelves by fall.
Hey @timheidecker.bsky.social why won't you talk to me bro? I'm a better comedy writer than anyone you got on staff right now. That's true as fuck
This was such a great video by The Onion covering that:

It is objectively bad for democracy that both blue and red states are doing extreme gerrymanders.
But the only feasible solution — a national ban on partisan gerrymandering — has only been endorsed by one party. And it's not the one complaining about Virginia right now.
The list of slightly weird, obsolete technology I love starts with Pop-Up Headlights. I bought my first car mainly because it had Pop-Up Headlights.
The same slur for every black person he doesn’t like. Subtle!
My hometown of Nashville -- a blue city which went about two-thirds for Harris-Walz in 2024 -- was gerrymandered by the TN GOP into three different districts all represented by Republicans now, so please get in line to complain about how unfair this all is, Virginia Republicans
As a bartender I approve this message. This whole thing was dumb Nevada vote-buying and it stinks. Why should I get a tax break while the dishwasher doesn't, to say nothing of teachers, healthcare workers, sanitation workers etc etc
Trump is really mad at the WSJ for pointing out that he’s getting rolled by Iran.
The Republican goal was to gerrymander to R+5 nationally. Now it looks like the net gerrymander will be D+1 nationally. Some abyss!
Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.
The national GOP tomorrow could easily pass a bill that bans gerrymandering and mandates competitive maps, but they won't. Instead they'll just lean into grievance and self-victimhood.
So Trump claims to be a teetotaler and the media has repeated that claim for decades but the man constantly acts and speaks like a drunk on a hardcore bender and fills his cabinet with obviously still-drinking day drunks. Personally, I think the man is drinking. A lot.
I live in a very rural county and I agree. One person one vote. Most Americans live in cities & suburbs, and they should dominate our elections and policy-making. Rural folks like me should be hard at work looking for common cause, not pretending to be a majority.
we are seeing the results of letting the rurals run everything and it’s Pretty Shit
Two things can be true:
Congress should pass uniform, national legislation reining in partisan gerrymandering; and
Until that happens, or every state adopts an independent redistricting commission, neither party is going to (or, frankly, should) unilaterally disarm.
Indeed. Complaints about redistricting are invalid. Republicans did it everywhere and invalidated a Constitutional Amendment so they could do it on explicitly racial lines.
There are two choices: use the same levers of power as Republicans do, or let them win. There is no "principled" opposition.
As part of the restoration of the rule of law, every lawyer in the Trump admin who touched this file needs to go to jail.
Sanctions and disbarment are what you do for private abuses of the legal system. Abusing the government power of criminal indictment is another matter, and they keep doing it.
JUST IN: FBI Dir Kash Patel loses libel suit he filed against former FBI agent Frank Figliuzzi for saying Patel "reportedly" has been "visible at nightclubs far more" than at FBI HQ. Judge George Hanks (Obama/TXSD) says it was "rhetorical hyperbole." Doc: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
GOP - *gerrymanders*
DEMS - hey stop that no fair
GOP - *gerrymanders even more*
DEMS - we mean it we’re gonna sue
SCOTUS - *legalizes gerrymandering completely*
DEMS - *start gerrymandering*
GOP - HEY STOP THAT NO FAIR!!!! 😭
Love Stefaniked used as a verb meaning sucked up and failed.
Starting a mid-decade redistricting war only to end up with -1 seats is the same fine strategic genius and subtle grasp of game theory that brough us the Strait of Hormuz.
The next Dem president must use the newly established dictatorial powers of the presidency actively against Republicans until they agree to join in passing laws to remove those powers. Or until they’re all in jail because they’re too stupid to surrender. Either way.
If predatory t-rex-sized megafauna existed alongside stone-age humans, none of us would be alive today, as Primal illustrates. Just dumb dumb dumb, and I’m what supposed to ask for 7 more episodes?
Gendy Tartakovsky’s Primal: Some of the most beautiful animation and compelling visual storytelling you’ll ever see. But a plot so lazily homeschool Christian Veggie Tales that you’ll hate yourself for watching all the way through the dumb first episode.
"This is an important thing to think about."
Apparently we need a federal law specifying that people deported from the United States may only be deported to the country of their actual personal legal nationality. Which is insane to say, only a wickedly evil person would suggest otherwise, but Republicans exist so …
