Found a used copy of Dragon Quest VI today (yay!). Popped the cartridge into my 3DS to test that it worked. The pre-existing save file was named “Patrick.” It was meant to be.

Bought a used copy of Dragon Quest IX. Still a save file on the cartridge. Character's name is "Rat," a name I often use for my characters. Curious, I loaded into their save and got a happy birthday message. So, happy birthday, Rat! Wherever you are. I'll continue the legacy of Rat with my save. 🐀
