I hear you.
We had a veritable rainbow of paint sample colours on our wall that all looked the SAME freaking shade of beige in the swatches. Dark magic at work.

I figured that link was just an example They would have a pretty extensive full range..
Part of our house exterior is the most fabulous rich deep purple. No other paint company came close to what we wanted.

Harder to find Resene because Dulux is the default everywhere but worth the quest

Most of our paint traumas (had a few over the years) were solved with a Resene shade. Love that brand.

I find with paint colours, you gotta pick a sample that looks nothing like the colour you want and it will look perfect on the wall. I don’t make the rules.

I intend to be carried out in a box of my current, and only house. I don’t care if my house price halves if a generation of renters can buy homes

Betty Bowers was formerly involved with the Landover Baptist Church, whose motto was “Where the Worthwhile Worship and the Unsaved are Unwelcome”
This marvellous site introduced me to Poe’s Law.
Same energy here.

Appalling behaviour and an appalling doubling down from the doctor.
3 prior AHPRA notifications and he still hasn’t learned.
A few hours of re-education and mentoring is a very light penalty I would have thought.

Pretty certain that if my kids were at primary school now they would beg me to let them stay home during Book Week and maybe, read books?
We all loathe costumes.

Some weird idea about hygiene presumably. Same thing happened to some Queensland kids at the Hobart Aquatic Centre a while ago. Their "rashies" ie standard sun smart swim gear weren't acceptable "bathers" in Tasmania and they weren't allowed in the pool..

That’s weird. So the burkini is banned in France but swim caps are mandatory. How does that work?

A $500 fine, a character reference from JCU and no conviction recorded.
He graduates as a doctor this year.

Signage in NSW way better than Queensland.
My fantasy is that the people responsible go to Hell and have to spend eternity driving round getting lost because of the shitty signs.

Some years ago, we had a badly behaved surgeon and a spineless administration. Surgeon threw a scalpel at a nurse when DMS was on holiday. Locum DMS sacked him (👏👏👏)
Admin were horrified "he brings in $1 million a year"
Too late. He's gone and good riddance.

I was so pleased to hear that Louise Milligan is looking at this. I was worried that the incident would be buried.

Private hospitals will turn a blind eye to this sort of behaviour because of the money surgeons bring in. They care considerably less about nurses and other staff who they consider are a dime a dozen and can be replaced.

The hospital just sees the $$ he will bring in, they don't care about anything else.

Last federal election I was simply asked “do you have a reason for prepolling “ and they were happy with “yes”.
If candidates would limit the endless number of volunteers shoving how to vote cards in my face I might think differently..

Dunno if I have ever emptied my kettle.
Presumably there are still a few molecules of water in there from the first time I filled it. 🤷‍♀️

If you adjust for driving miles, they do.

It shouldn’t be up to family members, or the person’s doctor. Over 75s should have mandatory, regular , real world testing. If pilots can use simulators for training, surely we could develop driving simulators?

9 months ago 2 0 0 0

Agree. Driving isn’t a right.
Everyone declines mentally and physically with age. Over 75s should be regularly tested.
If pilots can clock up hours on simulators, why haven’t we developed widespread driving simulators?

Exactly. Random speed cameras encourage drivers to slow down everywhere. Fixed cameras may have a role at Black Spots but are pointless otherwise.

Americanising anything was irritating enough pre-Trump, but post-Trump it’s unbearable.
