Party unity helps, yes. But 𝗮 𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 matters even more. If the pro EU case is to reach the whole country, it must come from beyond party lines as well as within them. Only then can Rejoin truly win.

Rejoin is the term people use, but 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 is the reality. It will mean new terms, and we must be honest about that. But none of this is possible without unity. If pro EU voices stay divided, the message is lost before it even begins.

𝗥𝗲𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 does mean applying again, but that is exactly why we must work together.

If pro EU voices stay divided, we cannot build the support needed for any future A49 application.

By contrast, today’s EU created its Single Market 𝗯𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝘀.

That’s what makes it one of history’s most remarkable peace projects.

Yes, but the big difference is that countries volunteer to join the EU. Unlike the Roman Empire, the Nazi Empire or the Soviet Empire, they are not bludgeoned or forced to join. Today most of Europe is in the EU or wants to be.
