I don't think it conflicts with the XY version because that game literally has a way smaller scaled version. They can retcon easily

The more I think about it, the less sense the lack of Phoenix Wright in Smash becomes to me.

To me, he is one of the third party icons most associated with Nintendo in a way he's like a pseudo-Nintendo character.

He has to be in the next Smash game!
