Hi dear hacker friends, it's Marvin again! 🐧
I just wanted to give you a quick reminder to register for this year’s Hackathon in Cape Town. In this year's logo you can spot two of my favorite things: the ocean 🌊 and the King Protea 🌺, South Africa’s national flower.

Dear hackers, meet Marvin!! 🐧 Marvin is a South African Penguin who loves eating squid and developing R packages for his friends. Marvin's also here to remind you to register for some #hackica26 fun 🔽
One of my favourite events of the year! Learn about new tools/methods/people and hack on some dataset/tool/project 😍

Have contacts at the University of Cape Town or nearby venues with solid Wi-Fi, power, & breakout rooms? Please get in touch — any leads are welcome! 🙌
2️⃣ Organisers:
We’re recruiting a few more organisers (early-career especially!) to help plan & be on-site during the hackathon.

With 13 other great participants, we explored +2 million of Telegram messages around the 2024 US election. I can really recommend checking out the data!
