A lot of us are wondering what we can do to support our colleagues at NSF and NIH. Here’s something you can do: when they ask you to serve on a panel, say yes. Even if you’re too busy (you are). Even if it feels under-compensated (it is), just say yes. Make one thing easier for them.

The court restoration may not help. Right now schools are laying off people bc the funds are held. I watched a dozen teachers lose their jobs in a month but that dozen is 1/5 of the local rural teachers employed.

They’ve stripped funding from Hawaiian and Alaskan Ed programs already. These programs are essential in states where other structures for support are not available.
