Took my sumatriptan at 5 am today and slept with ice packs... I might have to take another dose before work

A white person in a blush pink KN95 smiles at the camera gently. Their hair is pink and coral with somewhat defined curls tumbling down their shoulders onto their dark long sleeved cozy shirt. They have applied brown winged eyeliner and a pink inner corner highlight that matches their mask.

My partner braided my hair last night and I think it came out really cute today (now that I'm alive enough post-migraine to take my hair down)

Also I made this today

Missed a call this morning because I had a migraine. The call was to notify me that the appointment next week for follow-up on my migraines has been canceled. Ironic.

Picked up the discovery set from Paraphrase perfumes (primarily for Fruit Thieves) and am pretty happy with the results. And I have sprayed Fruit Thieves all over myself, so we can safely say it was a win.

It appears to be from Blissfully Bookish, though they seem to only have the blue variant on the website right now

I got a box of stuff for free today from someone moving internationally. The thing that made me immediately jump at the box is this delightful (huge) hair clip shaped like a dragon

I have the Focus Friend app installed on my phone & the lil bean friend in mine is named Rena because they are a kidney bean. So it's funny to me that the push notification is "Your Bean is Distracted!" instead of using the name. I already know my clit is demanding, I don't need a push notification!

I want to be clear that I'm *not* a security expert. I'm vaguely interested in it and work in tech support, so I know a little bit but mostly want people to understand that convenience features are security risks. Sometimes they're worth the risk, but that depends what you're protecting & from whom.

I've definitely still enabled some convenience features that pose security risks, and I do my best to consider what those are and make those choices thoughtfully. The security cost now outweighs the convenience benefit of getting messages on my Fitbit, so I'm disabling that today.

I only use passcodes, never biometric security measures like fingerprint or face for locking devices (phone, laptop) and 2FA. This is both because my fingerprints were compromised ages ago and because cops & feds in the USA can (and do!) use people's bodies to unlock their phones without a warrant.

I use Signal heavily. My lock screen notification settings have Show sensitive content disabled so I get the notification that there is a message in Signal but not the text content. On my Android device, that's in Settings > Notifications > Notifications on Lock Screen under the Privacy heading.

Considering the environment of your information is a necessary part of keeping it secure. We now know that Apple is retaining lock screen preview text in their notification database indefinitely; I hope Android isn't but they certainly could.

Still spent the day in darkness and dealing with nausea but my partner warmed up some baked potato soup for me out of the freezer so I did get to have dinner. And I remembered to message my MIL for her birthday.

An hour after taking the sumatriptan, I accepted that work was not viable and took the rest of the day off. Two naps later and it's not quite the end of my scheduled shift and I feel much better for having taken the rest of the day to lay in my dark cave of a bedroom

I had my fallopian tubes removed at an eye surgery center because St. Mary's would not allow doctors to perform reproductive health surgeries in the hospital. They also cut gender-affirming care suddenly years ago.

I switched insurance before pursuing any medical transition because I'd had enough weird moments in appointments just being open with doctors about being bisexual. I would not have been able to access testosterone if I'd still been on the insurance associated with St. Mary's.

Before I got the surgery, I had to do preparatory research. I asked around to people who had been nurses in the same health system to figure out which gynecologist I could go to. I had to check laws to make sure Wisconsin didn't have any requirements like minimum age or number of pregnancies/births.
