On one hand, you are some of my greatest heroes. On the other hand, I worry and feel that some have been used. This is complex stuff that I don't pretend to understand anymore. I just know we need your actual voices, to clarify.

I'll just put this out there to all of you veterans, of the armed forces of the USA... we need your stories. We need your experience. Because we need to know what to do and not to do, in the present, and the future.

I wanted to be a fighter pilot. I could do it all. Math, physics, engineering, and steadfast assertive meaningful aggression. Around 10 or 11, I heard "you're too tall". I still don't don't know if that was true.

Oh man, did you fly one of these? Or even work on one? I am one of those lost boys, that loved this stuff, was great at engineering, but lost guidance when my dad cheated on my Mom and left our family.

And @Elon, I would LOVE to have a debate on your understanding of universal physics. Everything you've ever done, is Newtonian physics. You have a physics degree, right? I don't. Should be easy. So let's do it.

Elon Musk may be great at rockets. I do not deny that. But, this goes nowhere in the bigger picture. Hey @Elon, swimming again the river of change that IS the known inverse, is not a good long term strategy.

The very best scenario, for terraforming mars, is that we literally create nuclear fusion explosions in its core, to then recreate a magnetosphere, and then it dies anyway, due to that lack of solar radiation heating.

3. And to do this would require massive amounts of force, that even with thermonuclear weapons (which would create a whole list of subsequent problems), could not be done, becasue mars is always cooling, given it's distance from the sun.

2. Revert to point 1. In order to create a magnetosphere, which would protect any atmosphere that happened to be created by humans, you would have to reignite a molten natal core in the planet itself.

1. Mars cannot be terraformed. This is a myth, that is completely unattainable to anyone who has even a remote understanding of geophysics.

Mars has an almost non existent magnetic field. This means that even you if DID succeed in creating a habitable atmosphere, it be would wiped away.

I see people attack Elon for many good reasons. But let's get to the core reasons, of why he may be good at rockets, but he's not good at large scale concepts:

But unfortunately, not all humans understand this concept. And this is why we still have wars. Americans are NOT entitled to endless resources at the expense of others.

The concept of peace, is very familiar to many of us. It is the concept of both or more parties benefiting from cooperation.

This is the exact opposite strategy that led many countries around the world to peace and prosperity, or at the very least, paths to peace and prosperity.

For those who don't know what nationalism is, it is basically tribalism on steroids, with advanced weaponry, and large numbers.

So, I've been neck deep in this since russia invaded Ukraine for the second time in 2022.

We are in the midst of a global process, of forgetting what happens when nationalism becomes the dominants force in multiple counties, on planet Earth.

It's been a little while. I had the privilege, but also the workload, of showing up and being there for friends and family over the US holidays. Always worth it.

I was at airshow once when an F-16 did a near stall low altitude fly by (like 150 ft), and then lit full afterburner, turned straight up, and flew out of sight.

I remember the announcer saying this couldn't be done on an asphalt runway, becasue it would heat and blow apart the asphalt in seconds.

Damn, I can't even imagine a full afterburn on an F-15... that must have been one of those "they pay me to do this?" moments 😍

My understanding is that the F-20 was limited production becasue F-16 quickly became a more viable option, for it's versatile airframe and adaptability of weapons systems.
