Sexual assault, forcing citizens to strip naked, Israeli men exposing themselves to children.
The latest human report on Israel's actions against people in the West Bank is shocking.
When will western leaders stand up for international law and denounce the terror state?

Palantir Posts Very Long X Post Denouncing ‘Vacant and Hollow Pluralism’ Best case scenario: maybe Palantir is super psyched about abundant and solid pluralism.

Palantir should not be allowed to have any government contracts at any level because it is fundamentally opposed to the basic concepts of liberal democracy.

Can America Learn from Hungary? A Saturday Prompt

Newly elected Peter Magyar promised to suspend the state-controlled TV channel and end its “the factory of lies,” adding, “What has gone on here since 2010 [when Orban took power] would have Goebbels or the North Korean dictator lick their lips.”

AB Resistance (@abresistance) There is no bottom with this government. If they don't like something they just redo it. My question will this proceed faster than the Forever Canadian committee? None of this is normal or democratic!

UCP will be gerrymandering to maintain power.

a man in a grey sweater says " okay " ALT: a man in a grey sweater says " okay "

Banning algorithmic pricing ought to be a no-brainer call for any government: people don’t like to be ripped off, surveilled, or treated differently from their peers.

Algorithm pricing does all three of those things.

The Inside Story of Five Days That Remade the Supreme Court

"Even as they debated the Obama plan’s possible burden on the power industry, in the entire chain of correspondence obtained by The Times, not a single justice … mentioned the dangers of a warming planet as one of the possible harms the court should consider.” www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/u...

Waking up to discover that evidence has been released proving something we all knew. The Supreme Court's efforts to stop the Obama clean power plant rules were rooted in explicit, corrupt efforts to protect the fossil fuel industry.

Pope James David Vance the First The vice president has decided he’s a more accomplished theologian than Leo XIV.

I wanna report a murder

“Vance’s response to Leo’s statements came during an interview at a Turning Point USA event in Georgia. It was a sour cocktail of equal parts hubris and ignorance with a spritz of Vance’s trademark smarm” writes @radiofreetom.bsky.social

Took 2 minutes to get this video--it's constant.
Already had at least 1 cyclist get smoked along Ontario St bike route by car not stopping (northbound traffic doesn't have to stop) and taken away by ambulance. Does someone have to get killed before someone takes action? #vanpoli #VPD

Corner of Ontario/11th--all day 100s vehicles every hour "rat-running" to avoid Broadway construction. Most ignore stop sign--or don't even know it's there. Despite constant complaints, City of #Vancouver has done NOTHING.

Tina Yazdani was respected for asking tough questions at Queen's Park, and not being a glorified stenographer for the wealthy and politically connected.

CityNews suddenly sacking her and scrubbing her work on Doug Ford from the web smacks of someone making a phone call to get her canned. #onpoli

Life After Cars offers "an escape from the endless cycle of some random event blowing up your gas budget every few years. Just close your eyes and think for a second what it would feel like to never have to think about how much gas costs again."

Longtime Immigration Court Interpreter Arrested by ICE at South Texas Airport The state’s only licensed Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu legal interpreter is now languishing in a Raymondville detention center. She’s lived in America for 35 years.

New from @gaigedavila.bsky.social: “It’s not targeting criminals, it’s not targeting dangerous people, it’s targeting individuals who are members of our community, who have a lot to offer and continue to offer a lot of positive things for our entire country and our society.”

It’s fairly telling of the order of things that Canada almost immediately defaulted to the government taking a financial hit to provide gas price relief, without paying for it through a windfall tax even being floated as a serious possibility.

Media outlets have infrastructure to support such investigations — experienced reporters and editors, newsroom lawyers, resources to fend off lawsuits. The content creators had none of that. Both women said they independently took out umbrella insurance policies to protect their houses and other assets in case they got sued.

At one point Fodor, feeling increasingly overwhelmed, sent a message to Hunt: “I think we have bitten off more than we can chew here.”

The influencers agreed that specific allegations needed to be broken in a news story. While reporters dug into the allegations, they kept up a public drumbeat, insisting that Swalwell was a shady character and promising the details would come out soon. The tease infuriated many on social media, who accused the influencers of being irresponsible by lobbing accusations without backing them up.

But the threat of a soon-to-drop news story was enough to dry up Swalwell’s fundraising and unnerve supporters. Political operatives of all stripes were disconcerted watching the influencers play by their own set of rules, different from the norms of media outlets, and wondered if this would become a new normal in campaigns — a prospect that even unsettled the influencers.

“I have a lot of fears about the blurred lines between content creators and journalists,” Hunt said. She knew her personal familiarity with Swalwell’s reputation would never have been sufficient basis for a reporter to write a story.

“It was enough for me to feel confident in not getting sued, and to want to let other women know that they weren’t alone, and only from that place would we be able to break his story in a traditional news media outlet,” she said. “I don’t want this to be a green light to creators who think that they should be breaking sensitive news.”

The series of events that resulted in Swalwell's downfall bring up a really interesting (and depressing) conversation about traditional media vs. independent and how money in journalism controls who has the safety to tell the truth
