European businesses are seriously spooked by China's new supply chain law

EU Chamber in China statement says companies will struggle to comply with both EU rules and Chinese ones. Absolutely caught in a bind

It's a pretty major flaw in your theory of socialism if you completely take away workers rights to organise and join a union. If you spend any time in China you would see a huge wealth gap because it's a capitalist country that exploits the working class

I'm sorry but if you're not empowering workers then you're not socialist. It's really very simple. All you're talking about is a state controlled economy

No that's not a core principle of socialism, but the right to join an independent union and advocate for better wages and working conditions absolutely is. Which is why organisations such as the ITUC are not allowed to operate in China. It's literally the antithesis of socialism.

Jasic incident - Wikipedia

Does this sound like socialism to you? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jasic_i...

Socialism is supposed to give workers the right to advocate for better working conditions and pay independent of state control. It's not socialism if you take away that power. Come on this is really basic stuff

It's not socialism if you outlaw independent trade unions and collective bargaining

On his most recent Instagram post he's wearing a Mao suit. He's the archetypal far left tankie grifter living in an LA mansion and driving a Porsche

His whole speech pointing out Western governments’ breaches of human rights was a *defence* of China breaching human rights and the fact that so many on here thought is was amazing is extremely puzzling

Then there's the enduring #胸口畫框 《 》 aka gesturing to what's blatantly missing in front of our baseball jerseys — hint: our country's name is not Chinese Taipei — in a polite, pointed reminder of Taiwan's erasure by global sports bodies like the WBSC, IOC. wordsfromtaiwan.medium.com/team-taiwan-...

Yeah, their plea for Hong Kongers to organise with mainland workers sounds like a great idea from Brooklyn, but in reality was a sure fire way to get Chinese workers arrested

The communications director is replying to every post from a private account with the most juvenile comments. It's staggeringly unprofessional

Nike Says Its Factory Workers Make Nearly Double the Minimum Wage. In Indonesia, Workers Say, “It’s Not True.” An average worker at the foreign factories that make Nike’s goods earns 1.9 times the local minimum wage, the company says. We traveled to Nike’s second-largest hub and interviewed 100 workers, none of whom said they earned anywhere near 1.9 times the local minimum wage, the pay rate the company has cited as its global average over the years.

In Starmer’s Beijing trip, Hong Kong is only mentioned by him as a financial hub and a bridge for cooperation.

Not once as a city where opposition has been criminalised, protesters imprisoned or murdered, free media eliminated & civil society dismantled.

Full betrayal.
