First art of the year! Gotta retrain my
brain into 1) making more sketches and “casual” art and 2) recognizing my own self-worth in those drawings

I feel you; I burnt out BAD last year! It was to the point where I eventually wanted to make art again and was inspired but the ideas just wouldn’t flow

Morphosource (if you weren’t already looking at it) might be helpful! It includes data from museum collections

FLMNH (museum at my undergrad school) also has a CT scanner they use for animal specimens too, although I’m not sure if their mammal collections are online to that degree

Megapodes are a family of ground birds who don’t rear their young AT ALL and instead bury their eggs in mounds. Incubation varies between species, and the young are ready to go when they hatch. Some species can fly on day 1
