As Brendan Fraser said about Tom Cruise’s ”Mummy” bomb: “The ingredient we had going for our ‘Mummy’ which I didn’t see in the new one, was Fun. That was what was lacking in that incarnation. It was too much of a straight horror movie. The Mummy should be a thrill ride but not terrifying & scary”.👍

No THANK you , “Lee Cronin’s Mummy”!😧😬🫣 I’ll just wait for the new Brendan Fraser/Rachel Weiss “Mummy” sequel, instead!😁👍
(& hopefully they also bring back Oded Fehr & John Hannah, too, so they’ll have the whole old gang back together!🤗)

Exactly! A bit of humour to balance out the scary bits!😄

Whoa, what a funny coincidence — I literally just posted that same quote of Brendan’s too as part of my commen-thread!😄👍 And I agree, what made those versions so good was all the humour & fun bits in it that made them so enjoyable to watch!🤗(& like you said, families/kids could watch them, too!)

a man in a suit says i can t accept this ALT: a man in a suit says i can t accept this

One of my fave characters on The Gilded Age is the funny-but-flawed Oscar; he’s like a cross between Thomas Barrow & Edith on Downton Abbey, hard-luck characters who had 2 of the best character-arcs on the show; of course Oscar is still in his rotten-luck phase! (especially what’s happened lately!🫢)

Don’t know why, but I’ve felt more hope & optimism just from watching all this Artemis II moon-mission footage than I have from anything else lately!🥲👩🏼‍🚀(I’m such a space-nerd!😄❤️🚀And too young to remember any of the coverage of the original moon missions back then) #ArtemisII #moonmission

I was CRYING to see them not only come back safe but also in really good spirits, too!🥲🤗❤️👩🏼‍🚀

Yeah, same! I was crying happy tears when I watched the splashdown & saw that the crew not only got back safely but apparently they were in pretty high spirits as well!🥲🙏 I think watching the genuine teamwork of this whole mission has made me feel more hopeful optimism than I have in a long time!🤗❤️👩🏼‍🚀

Same! I never get invited to the good Halloween parties anymore (& we never get Trick-or-Treaters in our apartment buildin), so I don’t bother getting dressed up anymore either even tho I’d love to have an excuse to get a cool costume!😭 (& you should definitely rewatch Treasure Planet, too!☺️👍🪐😍)

Same, even tho myself & my husband were riveted, our senior cat Sherman slept thru it without a single glance at the tv!😄(& this is the same cat who used to immediately react to the sound of the dvd player switching on & was fascinated by the disc popping in & out when he was a young lad of a cat!😄)

Yes! Loved this show much more than I expected to!☺️I originally only tuned in b/c I heard the Doctor was going to be in it, (he was always my fave character from Voyager & he was just as good in this one if not better! So hilariously curmudgeonly!😂) but wound up falling in love with the whole show!❤️

I know I’m a bit late to the game, but finally started binge-watching “The Gilded Age” on HBO; Good cast, great writing (Julian Fellowes! Love his scathingly-witty lines for Christine Baranski, the “Lady Violet”-like character of this show!😂) & gorgeous period costumes & sets!😍Fun & addictive show!

That’s awesome — I LOVE that movie!🤗👍❤️(& your costume is great!) I thought I was the only one who remembered it!😄 Have you ever seen “Treasure Planet” as well? (sci-fi twist on “Treasure Island“, of course) Beautiful animation in that one too & similar “exploring adventure“ vibe to it as Atlantis.

Of course!☺️👍 To Be honest, I liked him even better than Brendan Fraser!😁🤭😍 He just showed up as a semi-recurring character in “Starfleet Academy“, and I did even recognise him at first, he looks so different nowadays!

I would’ve loved to have seen “Hamnet” win more Oscars, but at least Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her devastating performance, which I was really hoping for — she definitely deserved it!👏🎭🔥 #Oscars #JessieBuckley #BestActress

I love Harrods, too!😄 Such a grand old palatial-showplace of a department store, sometimes it’s fun just to browse around even if you don’t buy much!🤩

As much as I like the Winter Olympics in general, I really like watching the Paralympics afterwards; the para-athletes are so amazing & inspirational!💪I know that my granddad, who was a paraplegic WWII vet & an activist for disabled vets, would’ve really enjoyed watching them as well! #Paralympics

There’s never been a more gorgeously-produced film version of “Much Ado About Nothing” than Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 film! (Gorgeous costumes, great cast overall & a beautifully scenic Tuscany setting!😍) #Classicfilm #MuchDoAboutNothing #Shakespeare
