We still have tons of those custom built (at about 100k each) EV vehicles sitting and rotting at our Hamilton-Niagara area plant while our crappy Ford transits and mail trucks often don't have air conditioning during warm months where interior truck temps can reach 50 degrees Celsius

Here's a nice sample of some of what happened in Hamilton in 2015 the last time Canada Post tried to take away door to door. Residents took matters into their own hands, camping out to prevent installation of boxes. The city of Hamilton sued Canada Post after presentations by CUPW Hamilton.

That we have! Previous CPC CEOs have even said that postal banking would be a great idea.

Right? They'll say it's not profitable after they run it into the ground and then turn around and privatize it then *poof* all of a sudden it's profitable AND more expensive.

- CEO, executive, and upper management bonuses continuing throughout all of the years of supposed "losses"
- The implementation of an "SSD" system that increases the need for overtime while delaying mail to Canadians by 1-5 days minimum during an affordability crisis

- Hundreds of custom EV delivery vehicles, still sitting unused and rotting for over 6 years while the corporation says we'll have to share trucks because they're running out.
- $1 billion bailout that coincided with Canada Post using that money to buy Purolator an international logistics firm

CUPW steward here. The "losses":
- $400+ million dollar Albert Jackson package facility, currently running at %20 thanks to parcels being funneled to Purolator during our negotiations.
- Tens of millions in lost pay equity lawsuit grievances from CPC screwing with workers' pay

I'm good either way. I guess that's just the curse of you peeps making stuff so good that passers by in the house have to know what the hell is going on and want to get involved in the playthrough!

Fair enough. That works for me! Played through the demo on the PC with the mouse whilst duplicating it onto the projector so the GF could shout out our next move.

Home Safety Hotline we just used the controller while on the couch in front of the projector.

So friggin psyched. Maybe a dumb question here, but does Forbidden Solitaire have controller support like Home Safety Hotline kinda did?

I mean in IRL: on the streets, in orgs, on work floors. What's happening there? Going off of online discourse, especially on Meta and X platforms, is an exercise in trying to parse bad faith dialogue from bots and astroturfers.

Life is rough [thanks to capitalism], but we're still surrounded by fantastic people and we should give them props now and then. When touching grass, maybe doing some shrooms, turning off the phone, and getting laid aren't enough it's nice to have community where you can get it/make it.

I'm glad an increasing number of writers, activists, and people I admire are leaving twitter, closing the comments on their articles/vids, and coming over to Bluesky so I can finally just say nice things to them where they'll hear it.

We've got an increasing movement of unions, community orgs, and everyday folks on the streets demonstrating here in Ontario against our premier.

Is there a similar movement against Smith? I feel like that's one of the only ways this will change

A great read - this kind of writing is why I continue to come to Aftermath (and why I regret missing the membership sale! I'll sub soon I promise).

First found out about this gem from @dominictarason.com and, between cooking, mechs, anti-capitalism, and active turn based combat I'm psyched to play!

Is that a quote from Hobbes in the Hannibal TV show?

I was at a CUPE picket line in Hamilton and she popped by with several camera toting goons to snap photo ops, with said goons trying to corral me over to her saying "go on! Get in the shot! 😊" My postal worker buddies were later used in a promo ad. Screw that transactional fake lol

I think I just psychically threw up

It's like they somehow found the only unlikeable Newfoundlander and exiled her to Ontario to become an unelectable racist leader

Friggin love Matt Green. Looking forward to hearing you and him in the same room in Girlington!

Tribute to a former head who stepped down would be so friggin cringe at a union convention. I can't even imagine it

...too many people in their right moral minds lament the loss of crazy genocidal Zionists and their US-subsidized machines

And how current modern warfare actually makes tanks incredibly expensive and not altogether worth it assets - modern man-portable anti tank arms can take out tanks cheaply from dozens of km away.

But on top of all that, these idf tanks are being used against an occupied civilian populace. Can't say

Is it weird that I'm happy about Merkava tank batallions being wrecked to hell?

This reminds me of former army ranger turned anti-imperialist geopolitics analyst, organizer, podcaster (colonial outcasts, mintpress news). He was laughing at how badly the idf stage their tanks on the battlefield

Agreed! I only found out when I started learning a few years ago. I think the important thing to help folks keep focus on is that this isn't a uniquely Trump thing, or an if only Obama/Carter thing (they were both horrible people). We've gotta keep folks focused as they progress on their journeys
