Zille takes a dip in pothole pool

It feels like Democratic Alliance Chairperson and Mayoral Candidate for Johannesburg Helen Zille has taken a leaf out of @eddavey.libdems.org.uk's book when it come to random election stunts www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DD5...

My two cents on the Goodwin AI thing; it neatly demonstrates that the right is so vehemently anti-intellectual that it considers legitimate fact checking and academic integrity as ‘woke’

this book will analyse Britain's approach to educational, cultural, and sporting contact with Rhodesia during and shortly before it made its unilateral declaration of independence from Britain Pwww.britainzimbabwe.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/...

While its chances for success are very ltd, it is actively courting the Trump administration, which has already shown that it believes in far-right widely discredited conspiracy theories regarding a white genocide in South Africa inspired by the great replacement theory myth

Key conclusions: perceived poor governance by the ANC combined with right-wing conspiracy theories and too much time spent online during the COVID Pandemic took this movement from the fringes to a topic included in mainstream debate in South Africa

Given that we're told that Muslims as a bloc are communalist, anti-Semitic, misogynist homophobes, you might assume voting for a non-religious white woman, standing for a LGBT friendly party, led by a gay Jewish man, might lead you to stand down all those sectarianism headlines.

Yoon Suk Yeol: South Korea’s ex-president jailed for life for masterminding an insurrection Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached and indicted for declaring martial law in 2024.

This is how you deal with presidents who usurp democratic states for themselves.

Dinner with Mr Brexit: Bannon’s European Revolution – Planned with Farage, Backed by Epstein Nigel Farage was the figurehead and his partner Laure Ferrari started it. Steve Bannon and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were providing almost daily support

Epstein managed different networks. The UK media has rightly centred the powerful pedophile ring. It has maintained an uncanny silence about the global, anti-democratic, far right political network. Farage is up to his neck in it. If it weren’t for unprecedented double standards it’d be career over.

I’d add: these movements did what you’re *supposed to do* in a democratic system; organise, start debates, campaign, talk to politicians, put forward candidates. In response, they got screaming hostility and ludicrous shenanigans from politicians and politicians that are as popular as genital warts.

What Franco’s fascist regime in Spain can teach us about today’s America Comparisons of Trump to Hitler have become common. But some of Trump’s policies may more closely resemble those of Francisco Franco of Spain, says a Spanish scholar.

This is genuinely one of the best pieces of analysis I’ve read on this issue. It perfectly describes a number of people on one side of my own family

Please understand: just like Macron, these people will be just fine in a Sensible Centrists vs Fascists set up. There are jobs and influence for them in that system. There is no place for them in a Left vs Right one: in that country, they’re all back working in PR, lobbying and the law. Unacceptable

With the rise of state terrorism of this nature, supported by extreme far-right misinformation online, compliant mainstream media, ad pathetically weak Western leaders unwilling to call out these gross violations of international law, no country is safe from a rogue US administration

Rubio has criticised Europe as woke for classifying a far-right parties as extremists, elements close to Trump are sympathetic to Tommy Robinson, and Trump has demonstrated his belief on debunked far-right conspiracy theories relating to farm murders in South Africa

We should all be worried about the US action in Venezuela. Regardless of the regime in place there, you simply cannot break international law in this matter to kidnap a nation’s leader. Trump has made clear he wants Canada and Greenland incorporated into the US, made threats to Mexico and Columbia

Trawling through Rhodesian newspapers & television guides for examples of British-made programmes & films that slipped through the sanctions net. Will be a key theme in the final chapter I'm currently writing for my book on British policy towards cultural relations with Rhodesia during UDI

Reform will be a total failure at governance whether at local or national level. The problem is the cognitive dissonance of its supporters won’t impact their loyalty, the party’s failures will always be someone else’s fault, the woke, the blob, the globalists, the WEF etc

On a very early train to London to do (what I hope) is the final research trip for my next book on British cultural relations with Rhodesia. Using the time to write a review of a book on the Lancaster House talks, which saw the transition from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe.
