hybrids are a nice bandaid fix for cars specifically, but thats only ever going to be for the short term. used EVs are an absurd deal rn and would be even more so if we had better energy independence wrt renewables. but what we really need are better (and more!) mass transit options

e85 on its own will not ruin an engine, but a ton of people are struggling financially, and i can see vehicle maintenance becoming neglected. that, paired with e85 being less energy-dense, along with needing to check your fuel filter way more often, is the real killer imo
