A doctor with his arm pointing upwards. His hair is long and slicked backwards, and he is wearing square glasses. He has some pens in his labcoat. He is wearing a stripped jumper under his labcoat.

Because this is our first game, we are really excited to see if we did a good job of it. We will be talking much more about it soon, as our holidays are ending. For now, check this amazing character design by @lilithkb.bsky.social for the first character you will meet.

Most of our iteration is actually happening to address that balance. We want to keep some questions unanswered (because we would love to explore that world further), but we need the main arc to be rewarding, and the players to leave with the feeling that their questions were answered!

Because of that, uncovering that lore becomes the player's biggest movitation (or so we hope). Finding more about where the MC is, why he is there, and what is happening is actually the reward for them.
This gives us a very challenging balance game. How much do we actually show?

Great question!
Our (still unanounced) first game has a bit of a Mystery Box format. We imply from the start that there is a lot of background to be discovered, and show very little.
We pose a lot of questions in the first few minutes, and we leave them hanging.
