A vehicle can flip going less than 50 kmph. I've witnessed this myself when a driver fell asleep behind the wheel. All that's needed is for a front wheel drive car to catch a surface that is vertical. When his car drifted into parked cars his wheel just went up the side of the car he drifted into

The person who decided to lay on their horn the length of the 300 block of 9A St NW while I rode compliantly in Single File needs a refresher on this “I resolve statement”! 👇

If murders were investigated the same as car “accidents”:

“Well the perp said that the victim jumped in front of his knife - innocent!!”

WestJet discontinuing Lethbridge-Calgary, Medicine Hat-Calgary flights Travellers in southern Alberta will need to find other ways of getting to the province's largest city.WestJet ...

There are local markets emerging in our province that will require direct transportation to our largest cities of #yyc and #yeg. Regional rail can fill these gaps.

Rescinding the RCG base zone will not only put affordability and construction jobs at risk, it threatens transit funding as well. $860 million on the table potentially lost because of bad policy and ideology over substance.

Last weekend there were more people on the river pathways than cars on memorial. We were all squished on there while there was some nice real estate just not being used.

Buy Canadian policy doesn’t include $3B VIA Rail contract Read the full story and comment on Tbnewswatch.com

What we need is a long-term steady pipeline of rail and transit investment and renewal so that manufacturing communities aren't caught in cycles of boom and bust. The "Permanent Transit Fund" should have helped but it was diluted in the federal budget.

🚨Tell City Council to fund safer streets💥🚗

GET IN THE GAME!

Calgary's recently released budget shows ZERO extra funding to tackle the growing chaos on our streets.

This is simply not acceptable and requires all of us in #yycbike to write letters, and perhaps plan to speak in #yyccc later this month.

Sounds like Nazi Germany. I thought Americans had guns to prevent such a scenario? I guess it was just false bravado

The USA system is broken. If the government is shut down in 🇨🇦 it doesn't mean government programs stop, payments still happen, it just means bills are stuck in limbo. If a budget fails to get passed it means an election is triggered, because the current government isn't functional

Healthcare is a basic human right.

Food is basic human right.

Education, housing, clean air & water are human rights.

Using healthcare and food as leverage should be grounds for removal from office.

SNAP, Medicaid and the ACA are worth fighting for.

People will die without them.

Alberta municipalities calling for increased library and airport funding, visitor tax | CBC News Less than a month after elections across the province, Alberta's municipalities will meet to discuss where to focus its advocacy going forward, including increasing library funding, taxing short-term ...

When Calgary calls on UCP to collect on its own the provincial portion of property taxes b/c their increases confuse people to think it’s the City’s action, it’s a hard no…

But when Rocky Mountain House and Mayerthorpe ask the same thing…🤔

Having just come back from a business trip to China, I can completely see how 🇨🇳 has been able to build amazing things in recent years compared to Canada.

🇨🇦 needs to figure out how to get things done. It starts by dismantling the captured economies.

It makes sense when there's a dictator in power that hates the free press with a passion. Trump has been attacking any news media that isn't right wing propaganda. It doesn't matter if the newspaper is unbiased, to him if it isn't praising him constantly, it's an enemy to be destroyed

Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies - to write that for you." We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, "that you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You won't know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you can't do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat.
People are already doing this. You won't have to process grief, because you'll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways it's going to destroy humans, long before there's a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people." - author and filmmaker Justine Bateman from a piece by Emine Saner for the Guardian
