I owe many people many replies. Please be patient with me. I moved to another country and started a new job and I am so small.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back to a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”
IT SAVES PUBLIC MONEY to house people.

As a foreigner they have let me sign things without a hanko (personal stamp).
Digitally signing things... I haven't encountered it or heard of it.
I finally have internet and an unlimited data plan.
Japanese paperwork and bureaucracy is no fucking joke.
The most bad-ass rebuttal from Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach.

My birthday is Sunday & it would be great to get my @patreon.com to where it could at least cover rent after fees & such. If even a 1/4th of the people who follow joined at $1 that could happen. $5 patrons get early access to the podcast I do with @deejayknight.bsky.social

one thing you can do for your laid off friends is reach out to them and tell them that you appreciated their work. I dislike the stigma in America of people avoiding talking to you because you were callously cut out of employment because people who have no taste deleted you from a spreadsheet
Trains. Pretty great.
Neat!

A strip from Something Positive including Mike and his son (forgot the name, sorry, uncle Randy). The drawings is mainly of Mike packing up books, the main point here is the dialogue, which is as follows: Panel 1: Son: Orson Scott Card? JK Rowling? These are your favourite books, dad! Panel 2: Mike: They're pretty hateful towards gay and trans people and actively work to make their lives worse. I don't wanna support them anymore. Panel 3: Son: Can't you just separate the work from the author. Mike: Some people probably can and I sure tried. Son: What changed? Panel 4: Mike: I realised "separate the work from the author" is easy for me to say when I'm not one of the people they dehumanize.
Is this a good time to once again repost this Something Positive strip that Dear Uncle Randy made a few years back?
Answer: Unfortunately, it is. It shouldn't have to be, but it is.
Yup yup. More info in pinned post.

I am alive. Jetlag is mostly behind me, mostly. I haven't had time to realize I live in Japan again, but it will probably hit me tomorrow.

ok I understand your dog is one special dog who is different to every other dog to ever visit this park but I'm a writer and believe in Chekhov's gun so one of you gotta wear that leash bro
Sublime
In honor of Mr. Rogers’ birthday, here’s your regularly scheduled reminder that the quote of his you keep sharing, that in times of crisis we should look for the helpers, was for his audience of children.
We’re adults now. We’re supposed to *be* the helpers.
Oh well played. Very good. 👏
The Uatu Clause
Seems fine, which I am sure is the case.
How many folks On Here(tm) have games specific graphic design exp for both organic social content AND paid ad assets?
Looking to add to my rolodex atm so if you're someone that has exp in this realm with **existing portfolio pieces**, drop your website!
(No DMs unless mutuals, thanks <3)

Alllllllmost over the jetlag, he said hopefully.
Acceptance rates are irrelevant b/c publication isn't a random lottery. All subs don't have the same chance. If you send BCS SF, odds are 0%. If you send a story that makes me cry, odds are high. Writers: ignore acceptance rates b/c they have no bearing on whether YOUR submission may get published.
