With parrots being so much fun to paint, I went for a scarlet macaw this time. As a kid I thought parrots are supposed to be red, since movies like Aladdin depict them that way.

😂 I think I had been knitting for 2-3 years when I did this. My mother-in-law had to sew the arms in (see how small at the top) and sew the band on which was a pain. Some stitches «disappeared» due to tension issues common with beginners, but overall it was a good early project.

While helping my mom, I’m using up 3 of her huge skeins of acrylic in a pretty linen shade. I usually knit only wool (living in Norway), so this is new to me. Not hating it—but it’s knitting up quite dense. Curious how others find working with acrylic? #knitsky
