The book Perfecting Sound Forever by Greg Milner is fantastic. It’s explaining things I’ve noticed by ear but didn’t know by facts. What this book is to the history of audio recording is like what the book Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathan Wilson is to the history of soccer tactics. Just great.
I was in Death Valley recently and I have to say that Tony Conrad and Faust is the perfect accompaniment for the 40-minute drive from Furnace Creek to the Artist’s Drive and back. A wonderful, weird experience .
