Why is the Acting Attorney General doing this as opposed to the US Attorney for Alabama?

a Trump post that says "has anybody looked at how badly the country of spain is doing. Their financial numbers, despite contributing almost nothing to NATO and their military defense, are absolutely horrendous. Sad to watch!!!"

a Trump post that says "has anybody looked at how badly the country of spain is doing. Their financial numbers, despite contributing almost nothing to NATO and their military defense, are absolutely horrendous. Sad to watch!!!"

stupid Trump tweet for many reasons but one of which is that Spain had higher GDP growth than the US over the last year (3% vs 2%)

Wrote about a court blocking *actual* jawboning by the Trump admin... and how the people who spent the last 5 years screaming about how supposed Biden admin jawboning (for which they presented no evidence since it didn't happen) was the worst thing ever, are completely silent about this case.

What type of bird is that?

my point is if they denied it as moot Biden would have reimposed it

Off topic- Biden would have reinstated CPP so the Court would have stayed it again in 2021, notwithstanding the irreparable harm to the Biden Administration.

Following acceptance but also includes the review period makes no sense

The Trump Administration is asking for more time

Worth considering how the tariffs were not stayed because Trump Administration said reimbursement would be easy and now the Trump Administration is saying it can’t be done

Jamal is too nice to say "utter hypocrisy," but that's what this is.

Today's #SCOTUS treats *all* coercive relief against the executive branch as imposing irreparable harm on the government. For that proposition, they cite a 2014 opinion by ... Chief Justice Roberts.

Its absence here is deafening.

The Inside Story of Five Days That Remade the Supreme Court

There’s so much to say about the remarkable reporting from Jodi Kantor & Adam Liptak—and I’ll say a lot of it in Monday’s newsletter.

But the most striking thing about all of it is the role & behavior of Chief Justice Roberts. “Calling balls and strikes” this ain’t:

Are you suggesting that the Court is twisting irreparable harm to suit its purposes, and isn’t being consistent in how it either measures or balances this critical concept?

One quick thought is that in recent decisions in Trump’s favor there’s a lot of talk about the government automatically facing irreparable harm when its policies are blocked but here all the talk from Roberts is the irreparable harm facing those challenging the plan.

Can’t blame this one on Trump judges. Millet and Garcia are Dem appointees.

What’s weird is they are pretending they didn’t grant the stay - just an administrative stay that expires when there is a merits ruling. It’s ridiculous.

We have a serious problem with appellate courts not having district courts' backs on things like fact-intensive injunctions.

The Trump administration literally lied about the need for ballroom construction, and the appeals court is saying we like to be lied to.
