Congrats to Daniel Aron Ang - another great piece of work from his PhD. In this study, he identified that the non-canonical NF-kB factor, p52, can interact with ATF4 to activate oncogenic enhancers through p300/CBP recruitment.

.... this implies that b-catenin independent signalling only plays a minor role (transcriptionally?) in Wnt-addicted PDAC and that their might be a regulatory grammar that determines whether a Wnt target gene is activated or repressed in response to pathway activation

Two key findings ....
1. In HPAF-II (RNF43 mutant pancreatic cancer) only 10% of genes are b-catenin independent
2. A subset of the Wnt-repressed genes is enriched for the NRE motif (as described Kim et al) and we subsequently test its function repressing a lncRNA and modulating AXIN2 expression
