Yes, it's yet another Tom Lehmann design - and it's not the last one. (Heck, it's not even the last game from Race for the Galaxy universe.)

With my PL team facing the potential of relegation (COYS!), this may be the only soccer I can truly enjoy.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Psalm 34:18 NLT
—-
So deeply thankful for a church who draws close to the brokenhearted and prays & gives to help justice thunder down.
Here’s what I want: Let justice thunder down like a waterfall; let righteousness flow like a mighty river that never runs dry.
Amos 5:24 VOICE
When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress or mistreat him. But the stranger who resides with you shall be to you like someone native-born among you; & you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.
Lev. 19:33-34 AMP
Not for the faint of heart - there's a lot going on and each deck/civilization has its own quirks - but a tremendously rewarding game experience.

I didn't like Era the first time I played it.
I was wrong.

I don't love the cover of the new version... but I'm not angry about it.

Crunchy dice-drafting decisions are coupled with oodles of thematic elements across a four game system with gorgeous production values.

The most fiddly part is set-up... gameplay is smooth as long as you can manipulate the die faces.
Since turns are simultaneous (with a couple of exceptions), the game moves at a nice clip.
And, since it's a Tom Lehmann design, it picks up speed towards the end rather than slowing down.
I don't disagree... it's pricey. I think it's worth it, but YMMV.
The original Rhino Hero game is cool... this one is WAY better.

I've described Mr. President as "a solo role-playing game for people interested in domestic & international politics" – and I stand by that statement. (I’m Mark Jackson, and I approve this message.)

I've played a LOT of Jump Drive... likely to play a lot more.

My newest review on the Opinionated Gamers site - this time around, it's the award-winning SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence and its expansion SETI: Space Agencies (both from CGE).
Short version: to quote Tony the Tiger, "They're grrreat!"

Don't knock "kid games" - some of them are downright splendid.
Like this one.

This has been out of print for so long... but Restoration Games is getting ready to crowdfund "The King's Gambit" set in Middle Earth (The Lord of the Rings).
Yes, I'm pretty jazzed about that.

The Undaunted system is a splendid combination of deck-building and war game... and, yes, I did lump three of them together.

Such an intriguing game - but I still hate the American name for it. (It should have been "Cardinals & Kings" or "Monks & Monarchs"... anything else.)

Almost caught up.
Over time, I think this is my favorite version of Keltis/Lost Cities...

More catching up... one son HATES this game, but the other son & I love it!

Having to play catch-up on my top 100 games today... this time with a little-known co-design from @djackthompson.bsky.social. (I really have a soft spot for this auction/set collecting game.)
