“Los compromisos actuales del #G20 suponen solo un ligero aumento de la #CDR para 2030; y muchos de ellos carecen de la información detallada necesaria para evaluar su credibilidad” - El Estado de la CDR, Informe de Análisis 1

760 million people still live without electricity.
Scaling renewable energy is how that changes, while keeping warming within 1.5°C.
Clean power can light homes, run hospitals, cut emissions and more.
Here’s why renewables matter for people and planet. tinyurl.com/4k9tejuf
Healthy #soils hold more than just nutrients, they also store #carbon. Soil carbon sequestration is a widely researched #CDR approach. Improving land management can help soils remove CO₂ while supporting #agricultural productivity & ecosystem health.

Progress on the State of Carbon Dioxide Removal is powered by collaboration across the #CDR ecosystem.
We recently met in #Oxford to advance our work - sharing insights, refining analysis, and strengthening impact.
Thanks to all involved, 3rd Edition of the #StateOfCDR out this June 🌍
Wondering what really works when it comes to climate solutions? Led by PIK's Jan Minx, "What Works Climate Solutions" will aim to provide decision-makers with information and resources they need on policies that work, and their enabling conditions.

How can policymaking support integrating CO2 removal into our economies as well as significant scale-up? A new paper argues that policy tools should more readily take into account the CDR sector's complexity – & explains how they can do it. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Sometimes #CarbonRemoval can look like a building - the Senedd building in Cardiff Bay. When trees grow they absorb CO₂ & store it in their biomass. If that wood is then used in long-lived products, like buildings, beams or furniture #carbon can remain locked away for decades, even centuries.

Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) is pitched as a major #CDR tool. A new perspective in @nature.com questions how scalable it really is.
#ERW shows promise but its true net CDR potential remains uncertain.

Peatlands, which cover just 3% of Earth's surface, store 550 billion tonnes of carbon or twice as much as all forests combined.
However, some 15% of them have been drained for agriculture.
Protecting these carbon sinks is vital #ForPeopleForPlanet.
