A movie which only gets better every time you watch it

Whether they do or don’t, exactly this is why anyone in ML who believes strongly in the harm of model labs as toll booths on intelligence should be working on growing intelligence per param for OS models. Apple’s also got a natural interest here to push it à la WebKit back when, too.
Also, that the Black Angels are now doing anniversary tours is one more sign that yes I’ve crossed over into being old
Black Angels are doing a Passover tour… might have to go catch it. Seeing them in 2008 at the Troubadour is still one of the best shows I’ve been to
Doing the Lord’s work
Who did Tuvix vote for?
Haha just kidding he got murdered
Well now you know what the mission of the trip is
He caused a ton of trouble for our nation as an f’ing congressional staff, then caught the car he was chasing and became FBI Director, and now spends his days getting drunk off his ass. There’s probably a lesson there about strivers, maybe
A nontrivial percentage of this app’s user base didn’t live through the fail whale and it shows
Those sorts don’t understand how much of anything works, but they’ve got some really strong opinions and you’re gonna hear all about them
I’ve seen a lot of shows. NIN is the best I’ve ever been to. my jaw was hanging there most of the set. and that coachella performance looks even crazier
this year might be the first year I really wish I was at coachella
That’s exactly what we did. We needed to replace my wife’s car in 2019 and for a Bolt because we have 2 cars and she’d use it to commute. Turned out we loved driving it so much it took over 95% of our miles driven, even 200+ mi trips with the Bolt’s anemic DCFC rate.
Everyone’s on their own schedule and has different needs, but for what it’s worth, if you have the ability to charge at home (even with a 110v outlet), how many fast charger stations are around you doesn’t matter much. Charging at home is much more convenient than getting gas regularly.
That's home. That's us.
This image of home just came down from the Artemis II crew.
Taken after their translunar injection burn, there are aurorae at top right and lower left, and zodiacal light at lower right.

I’ve harped on this since we got a BEV in 2019. More (reliable) L3 is important, but so is increased density of L2. Hotels, Airbnbs, state/national parks, apartment complexes, shopping centers, etc. For road trips, plentiful accessible L2 reduces the need for L3 pretty significantly in many cases.
Excited about this. We loved our Kia EV9 and when it’s time to replace our Forester, I’d like to replace it with something smaller. Since I’d primarily use it around town, the smaller battery one would actually be completely fine, too.
Holy shit. This one may be offline for the rest of the year. A normal restart already takes months.
That smelter is like 2% of global production.

This website has a problem. I still think it’s vastly better than X or Threads. And I wish Mark would keep doing summaries here. But I get why he doesn’t want to anymore
This is the only social media site I know where a big chunk of users try to drive ppl off it for any perceived error, real or not
These UI elements in Cowork are delightfully low-fi. Probably in part because they feel like UI design I did in OmniGraffle back when I began hacking around with UI design.
The neighborhood demands rosemary!
Man that does suck. Fortunately they are pretty easy to grow again and grow fast.
And they’re attractive plants, too!
A miracle of a plant. It grows like a weed and is beyond versatile for cooking.
Prime ribeye, cooked indirect over charcoal with a rosemary-sage bundle. Seared and basted with a rosemary-sage bundle. Hasselback roasted sweet potatoes with sage brown butter. Rosemary and sage from our garden.
Simple meal that turned out fantastic.
Saw Equinox EV at ~$28K after manufacturer and dealer discounts around here too
I also think we’re starting to grasp applications which embed this sort of arbitrary software/tools/visualizers in them as core components of their functionality rather than just periphery assistants. Claude’s new generative UI is some of the first steps in that direction.
This is an example of why the impact of today’s models is still not substantially expressed. If you relax token cost assumptions and assume you can build tools to assist you with arbitrary tasks efficiently, today’s leading models are useful far beyond what we are using them for.
