Go read "Bold But Not Too Bold" and "Cabaret in Flames" by Hache Pueyo (@hachepueyo.bsky.social). Both horror-adjacent.

The former is a lush, vibe-heavy gothic sapphic romance/mystery. The latter is a cannibal mystery/romance that's more plot-focused and political.

Both are truly superior works.

I also don't think of it that way, but more as the narrator distancing themselves and as an individual seperate from myself.
