My biggest blessing in this life is that I discovered my anam cara (soul friend). She brings to me, each day, the eternal song of love and I have discovered the truth that we didn't find love, love found us.

It took many years of silence, solitude and contemplation but I now see before me (and others) the narrow road leading toward deep love and self-giving and the wider road most take: the shiny path of the banal.

Much of our world is lonely and full of despair. We are created to experience the loving presence of God, not the idolatry of fundamentalism. Where can such presence be found? This saying is true and since so many rail against it God cannot be found: “the hand of the stranger is the hand of God.”
