obviously if people are genuinely happy with male/straight/yaoi-oriented media and spaces, more power to them, but i see a lot of opining in those spaces that wlw art cultures to participate in dont exist, and that is just not true, but some of them do reject corporate media as a primary sandbox

most mainstream adventure media is inherently alienating to women, and rather than spending ALL efforts towards trying to reshape it, i really think more people should check out indie yuri media and the spaces for people making it. ultimately corporate media cannot fulfill marginalized needs

i am a transmasc himedanshi so i dont speak for sapphics, but when they only participate in fandom spaces that revolve around men (for franchises that revolve around men) and seem sad about it, i just want to be like, yuri spaces are genuinely a thing, you dont need the lens of male-oriented media
