Caught THE BRIDE! before it leaves theaters and, surprising nobody, I loved it.

I only have one question. (Complimentary)

Did Maggie Gyllenhaal play IMMORTALITY?

I wish they would consider that fully committing to a persistent narrative system would get them closer to that infinity point than a roller coaster.

Obviously I disagree with their foundational premise (which is being made by an observer, not a company, to their credit) but I don't think either side of the coin you describe is unaddressable by human-powered experience design.

No park attraction has infinite capacity and infinite appeal.

Count me in if there's ever a non-free, non-digital version of this. (I'm in my zine era.)

Whether or not there is an experiential benefit to artificial performers who can "remember" more narrative material (and guest interactions) is an assessment that would be cruel to make before their human equivalents have ever been given a meaningful runway to work within a robust live story engine.

The inhibitor to such an experience existing has proven to be a financial one, not a technological one, and I have no reason to believe that any form of machine learning would make such an endeavor *less* expensive and therefore more attractive to operators who are committed to mitigating ambition.

The idea that persistent narrative systems in theme parks require animatronics and an AI backend displays both a profound lack of imagination and a complete ignorance of what has already been achieved in this space.

This dream has been achieved by human actors and human-curated story systems.

"Would you like to permanently add THRONE ROOM to your drafting pool?" "NO."

Believe it or not, I tried to talk her out of this sign.

(She was immediately swarmed by @blueprincegame.bsky.social players at our small local protest, and I've never been happier to be wrong.)

I don't share this fandom, but it makes me happy to see legacy properties developed by people who deeply love them.

Remember, it's your fault for noticing.

The shrine blessing of the chef triggered by every possible "spread" room. (Office, Locker Room, Patio, Secret Garden, and the Laboratory experiment that spreads dirt on the driveway.) Took some doing to get them all activated on the same day!

In the post-post-postgame of Blue Prince, I still like to visit Mount Holly occasionally to set little goals for myself.

After many days and more rerolls than I had planned to burn, I finally managed to fill up my dining room table!

Does it never end?

Fellow members of the Haute & Freddy royal court, I am pleased to report that the CD edition of "Big Disgrace" contains song lyrics!

(If your physical media proclivities had exclusively favored vinyl, you may want to make an exception on this occasion.)

Apparently Fortnite is vaulting their Daft Punk experience on the 19th. If you haven't had a chance to pop in, it is a surprisingly lovely communal postscript.

what a legacy he leaves behind

(Real talk: The minute I got out of the theater I ordered the art book, a sticker book, and two plush. Y'all made a banger. I'm used to crying and laughing at Pixar movies, but not at the same time.)

I saw Haute & Freddy perform at Bob Baker Marionette Theater last night, a perfect pairing of act and venue that turned out to be a delightful performance collaboration. (All bands should incorporate marionettes at every available opportunity.)

Their first album "Big Disgrace" drops this Friday.

The Vista Theater marquee.

Please take the wheel with your hands at ten and two, exercise your human free will, and go see "Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" in a theater while you still can.

I would consider it a personal favor.

Disney Axed ‘Star Wars’ Sequel ‘The Hunt for Ben Solo’ Without Ever Asking About the Budget or Other Details, Says Soderbergh: ‘It’s Insane’ and ‘We Were All Frustrated’ Steven Soderbergh spent two-and-a-half years developing the 'Star Wars' sequel movie 'The Hunt for Ben Solo' only for Disney to kill it.

The saddest part of this story is not that Bob Iger's imagination hasn't expanded since his days as a weatherman, but that a WGA writer was not being paid to write drafts for a studio for two and a half years.

That's not how development is supposed to work.

I wish they had notated which destination sub-variations they got. (There's not a lot of open questions about how Star Tours randomization works, but that would have been somewhat illuminating in terms of odds.)

The idea of a Gene Roddenberry & Lucille Ball action figure two-pack is equal parts hilarious and beautiful. I'm stunned.

Here's hoping this launches a sub-line of behind-the-scenes Star Trek figures. I'm pulling for DC Fontana and Wah Chang in the next wave.
