"Old Fim, New Film," 60" x 60,"
This painting show us just how far we have come since the time when a woman couldn't vote or hold an elected office.
Let's remember that we can make it through these times and can make change happen.
In these dark times, let us remember brave women who protested and fought and changed the world!

Jeannette Rankin was the first woman to win a seat in the House of Representatives and was sworn in on April 2, 1917.
When then president Wilson called for war with Germany, Rankin said ""I wish to stand for my country," she said, "but I cannot vote for war."
This woman had courage!
Happy Birthday to all the April 1st birthdays!

This small work , 12"x12", was painted shortly after this event. She is a hero.

On August 12, 2017, a group of right-wing protestors gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia, to oppose the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee.
The painting depicts the moment in the rally when a neo-Nazi activist drove his car into a crowd, killing counter-demonstrator Heather Heyer.
