This is the most important factor, IMO: Americans, including most Democrats, have shown they will reject moderate positions. Progressives must reclaim the mantle of *progressivism* - bold proposals that can deliver true benefits to more people, quickly. This is a pregnant moment for progressivism.
Noticing that labeling someone as a "deeply unserious person" is a favorite jibe of a certain kind of very online person.
Ironically, when that's thrown out, the thrower seems very casual and non-specific. Which seems quite unserious to me.
CNN put together a montage of Trump saying as far back as March 9 that his war against Iran "is going to be finished pretty quickly," then him saying that same thing over and over for the past six weeks
