Yeah it's all context. I'm certainly not saying that you shouldn't play against better players or be afraid of losing. Just irritated by that fact that some people cannot grasp the difference between 0-10 (close) and 0-10 (land slide) and how detrimental the latter is for new players.

Wholeheartedly agree. Buddy system is the way to go. My FG experience has been a blast because I found a small group of people to play (sometimes just one single person) and learn.

We should learn from our experiences and make things better for the newer players. That is the whole idea of progression, no?

to thrive. Just because that's how you learned, doesn't mean others should struggle in the same way. This brings the same energy as the people getting upset for younger generations getting things like loan forgiveness or other advantages.

Do you think sports coaches put college kids against elementary schoolers for matches? Are there things to learn when one party is battered so hard that they have no idea what they did wrong or unable to try the things they practiced? I get irrationally irritated as a person who wants new players

I usually stop my urge from replying to comments that I deem nonsensical. But today, I replied to someone who says the best way to learn is getting beat up by players leagues beyond you (D rank brand new player vs S+ rank in UNI2). I hate how this idea has such a grasp on parts of the FGC.

kakutou (格闘) = to fight
ge-mu (ゲーム) = Japanese pronunciation of English word "game."

#JapaneseFGCTerm #JPFGCTerm #48

However, some separate it by calling it:
taisengata akushon ge-mu
対戦型アクションゲーム
PvP action game.

taisen (対戦) = fight/match
ga(ka)ta (型) = type

kakutou ge-mu (kakuge-) [noun]
格闘ゲーム (格ゲー)
fighting game(s)
Genre name. Shortened to “kakuge-” most of the time. Regarding platform fighters, there are debates but a portion of people put it in the same genre.

Every single JP FG pro that I follow has been complaining about the sudden announcement for EWC qualifiers at Combo Breaker. It might be hard for an entity that never had to worry about money understand last minute international travel costs a significant amount for most people.

Jam's expression gave me a chuckle. It's funny that you can tell the age group of an artist with the memes and cross overs (the correct term is escaping me right now) they use.

Yeah, when I first saw it, I thought it was done by NetherRealm because it has the same blocky movement. It almost feels like some executive saw the MK sales and said, "Do the same thing."

Every time I watch a game like Invincible VS, I get a newfound appreciation on how good animations are in games like Street Fighter and Guilty Gear. Sometimes I wonder if it's a stylistic choice or more of a budget/time thing.

dai (台) = stand/holder (in this case, the arcade machine/controller)
pan (パン) = short for English word punch

The English spelling is the same as heavy punch (daipan) so the meaning has to be distinguished based on context and Japanese spelling.

I have successfully avoided the bullies for the past few months by only going outside while they are asleep. I recommend doing this for the fellow I-NO survivors.

Yeah, the VA was amazing. I'd imagine sounding young but also doing old person speech inflection is quite difficult.

Congrats to abridge!
Teal Raven! I can't enter ONLYMIDS and was always jealous of winners getting their char+color drawn. But if someone wins with the same color I use, that means..
Any I-NO players who uses the teal color interested in coaching? :^)
As always, thanks Irene for being such a cool TO!

You're right. Certain inflections in voice probably help too.

old person. She calls her self "washi" and ends a lot of her sentences with "ja." But that is difficult to translate into English so she just sounds like a normal young woman. How would a translator go about this? Use some old English?

Just saw both the English and Japanese version of Ingrid's trailer. To me, so much was lost in the English version (although neither the translator or VA's fault). Ingrid is an old being so one of her prominent features is that she sounds like a young girl but word choices are the likes of a very...
