I know it’s Darby’s hometown, but why do it Wednesday? Why not a week or two? Give MJF and Darby a week to cut promos and build it up. That’s what AEW normally does. instead they build up this Darby chase for weeks on TV and they just end it quick?

My logic is simply that they spent weeks of TV time building up to this Darby title shot. It was being positioned as a big deal that’d main event a PPV. Doing it on Wednesday feels rushed unless it’s a first chapter.

I suppose the alternative is Darby loses and turns heel. That’s possible.
