Riding my bike up and down the street to my friend's house like 6 times because I keep forgetting things. I'm so sleepy.

Woke up early and saw all the yard bunnies out.

I am laying in a hammock outside on a nice day burning sticks in my yard. A big tree is visible and behind a wooden bench is the fire pit with a small amount of smoke coming up from it. I'm doing this primarily to get ready for construction in my yard soon. But also to enjoy my yard as it is before it gets torn up and becomes different due to the construction.

This counts as "doing chores."

I easily caught him in a cup. I'm holding a cup with a mouse inside of it.

I caught him a second time in a jar. He looks very fluffy here. Big round ears, dark eyes, short tail, pink paws. He is about the size of my thumb.

Released to the wild near the beach and with a pile of seeds. He stopped and ate some seeds while we stood above and watched him acclimate to his new home.

I found this little critter on my porch and removed him to the bushes. When he appeared on my porch again, I relocated him to the beach with a big pile of seeds. Enjoy your new home lil fella! 🐁 ⛱️

Good news for my broken house situation: I'm told they are to put in a new drain field AND septic tank. Someone comes out to test drainage, & designs its new location for county permit approval by the end of next week. Trees and other stuff on our property may need to be removed for it tho.

A nice still lake with a sign near it that says "Please do not swim or wade at any time. Thank you." The nearby trees have bright green leaves on them.

Gull tracks in otherwise undisturbed tan sand with small shell fragments and mildly darker bands where wind has blown lighter grains away. The webbed imprints are light but visible in the warm, dry, fine sand.

A view of a crashing wave churning up the sand and blending it into a gradient with the blue color of the sea. The sand is very khaki colored against the white foam and blue of the Atlantic ocean. The water was warm to touch on this day, perhaps because it was also close to 90 degrees f outside.

A close shot showing the sand is extremely fine and collected in gentle windswept peaks. Its coloration and size is so uniform, with no rocks or debris at all. Very small shell fragments show up white within. This part of the beach may have been groomed at one point for human use, but the quantity and amount of sand was still overwhelmingly like this even in places where there were dunes and grasses reclaiming it.

A sand dune with beach grasses. Predominantly tan with windswept salt tolerant grass, some sparse green plants and in places even cacti. This seemed to be a very large and nearly continuous heap of sand fully along the edges we could see. These seemed to surround the beaches enough that we couldn't see the ocean from the road due to how tall the dunes were. There were access points between the dunes for beachgoers. No rocks, wood, or mixed beaches like back at home could be found.

We went to the national botanical garden in Chantilly today! Lot's of pretty things to see! Including a hobbit town!

I had such a nice time seeing friends, I'm so happy!

The new system needs to be designed, and permits issued by our county. That is the part that does take time.

Still sad about my house. :( Have to bring our washer & dryer to leave at a friends house for a while (they dont have one yet so best they have it for now). They're small-sized, so easy to move, but still.. Saying its such a life-changing inconvenience feels like its an understatement at this point.
