In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

Want to save democracy worldwide?

Dismantle Palantir until nothing is left.

This is actually a big step for the Federal NDP.

To be unshamed to call itself a democratic socialist party after decades of shying around the term.

Feed the hungry, protect workers, build homes on scale, and employ the eager.

Big tent socialism is here, and I love it!

Doug Ford buys himself a $28M private jet.

Ontario continues to burn under poverty and collapsing systems of care.

Honestly, I want humanity back in our politics.

Never apologize for being emotional about losing your Dad.

Here’s why gas prices are about to go up again, despite the fuel tax pause The more expensive summer gas blend has arrived at pumps across Canada, potentially erasing any savings that will come from the recently announced suspension of the federal fuel excise tax.

Yay.

I hope the summer blend has a limited edition maple scent! Ffs.

Absolutely. YES!

Also, federal support for food co-operatives too is important!

CBC investigation finds grocers Loblaw, Sobeys overcharging for underweight meat — again | CBC News A CBC News secret shopping investigation has — once again — uncovered how several Loblaw-owned and Sobeys-affiliated stores are overcharging for underweight meat, despite claims last year that the gro...

@avilewis.ca's speaking out against grocers cannot come fast enough.

Loblaws caught overcharging for underweight meat. I despise grocery prices in this country.

I wish we had a federal food co-operative framework. I'd happily join one.

Education is not a business.

Schools are not factories.

Our children are not widgets to be churned out.

Do better, @fordnation.

And even if you don't believe Carney would do that, laws persist beyond PMs. Imagine what a right-wing government would do with the security infrastructure behind it.

Do we want the false illusion of security by inviting government into our social media under the guise of saving kids.

I shudder to think what a federal government could do with the amount of digital surveillance such a ban would provide that isn't stated in the law.

I can see folks like Indigneous youth organizers being tracked online on Facebook, Bluesky, etc., when discussing pipeline protests?

I really cannot say that I support the Liberal's motion to adopt a social media ban for under 16s.

Enforcement will be impossible and circumventable anyway. If anything we should be fighting for stronger data privacy rights.

Jesus christ.
$925 M for A.I., coupled with business tax breaks.

Can we tackle cost of living issues instead of basically going full blown technocratic neoliberal?

$925M would be live changing for rural and northern communities in Canada. Not water chugging data centres.

Anyone want to place bets that Doug Ford will run for Federal Leadership if PP gets booted?

Isn't Gladu also connected to Suncor and then wanted to use the CAF against Indigenous pipeline protesters?

That's one wild fucking big tent party there lol.

Kitchen table economics (rent control, public grocers, nationalization of vital economic drivers for nation building, and a stronger directly public housing developer, etc) play better than market-safe items like P3 blackbox solutions.

All Avi has to do now is play to the tune of Canadian wallets.

Why?

I suspect with a fallen Conservative party, more of a spotlight will be cast on @avilewis.ca in the media to prevent him from chipping away at the Liberals. If the NDP sticks with its left-wing policy that tackles cost of living - having a distinct voice will appeal to working class votes.

Another Conservative passes over to the Liberals and it sounds like Pierre's Comms Director is resigning.

Maybe we'll see a CPC collapse?

I'm willing to bet we'll see an NDP rise with the fall of the Cons, especially if the party falters between a moderate and fringe wing.

Art of the Deal.

Completely destroy what remains of any goodwill towards America.

Skyrocket gas prices.

Threaten nuclear Armageddon for a war no one ever wanted.

Accomplish literally nothing in Iran and cause billions in wasted taxpayer money.

Great job, folks!

Somewhere out there, a defense contractor's stock graph is having a better day than humanity.

Wild how capitalism can price literally everything, and somehow decided that human life is the cheapest commodity of all.

A human soul? We call that non-performative asset these days.

If - god help us all - the Washington Regime drops a nuke in Iran, the world must immediately sanction the U.S., and Trump must be removed from power in any way possible.

It would embolden other powers to use them if our reaction is nothing more political paralysis.

Ontario’s Endangered Species Act is dead | The Narwhal Proposed under Bill 5, Ontario’s Species Conservation Act is officially in force, leaving many at-risk plants and animals, like redside dace and barn owls, unprotected

Cronyism and greed in Ontario. I am absolutely disgusted with this province.

The killing of environmental protection acts like the ESA is purely to open more public land up for transfers to the cancerously greed rot that infests this province.
