I was wondering about that! They're very careful (as they should be) about travelers bringing plants and animals in or out of Hawai'i, but if you wanted to adopt out an invasive animal like these lizards or one of the feral cats, that seems like it would be a win!

I saw three species of lizard in Kaua'i, all in developed areas and none of them native to Hawai'i. Seeing interesting (and beautiful) but non-native species was a big theme of the trip for me 🫤

It was a curious feeling walking out of the airport in Lihue and seeing a rooster in the parking lot. "What's this? Why parking lot rooster?" I thought.
Within five minutes I was thinking, "Oh, I guess this island is just ruled by feral chickens." (And feral cats and pigs, it turns out 🫤)

I keep seeing headlines like, "ICE agent is a war veteran, ICE agent was attacked last year," or whatever, and, like, who the fuck cares who he was? Who he is now is a murderer. Why are they trying so hard to praise the murderer we all saw murder someone in cold blood?
That is a real furry achievement right there. Even I can't claim it 😅
