I'm sad to report I've heard multiple people make this comment. It makes zero sense to me but there are, amazingly enough, people who think Ford is more liberal than conservative.

An image generate from BG Stats showing all the tabletop games I played this week including the number of plays each in a grid. The games and plays are: Fae (6), Linko (4), Cuzco (1), Babylonia (1), Ape Town (1), Rebirth (1), Moytura (1), Pillars of Fate (1), Piñatas (1), Gazebo (1), Lost Cities (1), Botswana (1), Royal Visit (1), Walking in Provence (1), The Yellow House (1), L.L.A.M.A. (1), Penguin Party (1) and Dragon Master (1).
Found a new obsession in Fae. Played Babylonia - always a highlight for me because it's one of my top favourites but we don't play it often enough. Had a cozy evening of Knizia card games. And spent Sunday on second plays of games that are new to me this year that I'd only played once. A great week!
Second play of Cuzco today and I may never recover from the dastardly move my husband pulled at the end that lost me all my majorities. But the longterm damage to our relationship will have been worth it, because we played Cuzco 😉
Incredible game.
It's cool that you have that option! I don't think any Canadian stores will bulk purchase used games.
No problem! Even just 10 minutes to relax the gluten helps.
I'm envious of the tortilla press. They like fun!
I like making flour tortillas, but I think making ones big enough for burritos would be difficult.
That said my top tip is making sure you let the dough rest under a lightly dampened towel after you make the balls but before rolling them out. It makes it infinitely easier to roll them out thinly.
This is such garbage. No, Tudeau attending a concert does not reflect poorly on his time in office. Nevermind how much of a tell it is that this article includes rolling back immigration and climate change measures among current efforts undo Trudeau's "mismanagement", as though that's a good thing.
Wow did you manage to sell them all together? That's impressive!
Congratulations!!!
A close-up photo of the board for the game Fae, set up for the beginning of a game. The board is a map divided into regions each containing 5 spaces in different terrain types. One plastic druid piece sits on each space, with those pieces coming in 5 colours.
The box for the board game Fae sitting on a wood table. The box cover has the title Fae in elaborate cursive, and an illustration of a druid facing towards a large fae creature made up of curves and shadows. The box cover also names the designer, Leo Colovini, and publisher Z-Man Games.
I've really been spoiled by fantastic first plays recently. This is what I get for looking into more of the BGG OG Guild designers, I suppose!
All that to say my first two plays of Fae (i.e. Clans) tonight were a big success. Exciting guessing your opponent's colour and watching the map condense.
Cool! I'll have to look into it.
An image generated by BG Stats which shows a grid of the games I played last week and the number of times I played each of them. The games and plays are: Linko (7), Piñatas (4), Mandala (4), Yokai Sketch (2), Cuzco (1), Rebirth (1), and Patchwork (1).
A fantastic week of games that all got completely overshadowed by my first play of Cuzco yesterday which might just have been my single favourite play of any game ever.
wow that has amazing table presence. I don't think I've heard of this one before.
My hand holding up the book The Siren Depths by Martha Wells. The cover shows a face off between two intimidating looking winged characters, one of them holding a human-like character by the head.
I need more folks to read Books of the Raksura series by Martha Wells. I need to talk about it! My precious Moon & his pals went through it in this 3rd entry. It was my favourite one yet.
Also if you want a series with strong, stubborn & at times terrifying female characters, this is a great one.
Yokai Sketch was also fun though a little bumpy as the rules left some things up to interpretation. Still it is a nice addition to my ever-growing collection of clever two player card games. The Vincent Dutrait art doesn't hurt, either!
All three of today's games were lookers, come to think of it.
A photo of the board game Rebirth in play. An map of Scotland is split into hexagonal spaces filled with cardboard tiles and chunky cathedral and castle pieces in the two player colours (blue and orange).
Also today my husband and I had our first play of Rebirth, pictured here, and Yokai Sketch.
Rebirth was a winner, no surprise there as Knizia tile placement games are my favourite. What was surprising though was how intuitive it is and how quick playing. This will be great for friends & family.
(I am aware we missed the rule about ponds not being placed adjacent to the edge of the map. We'll get that right next time.)
A photo of the board game Cuzco in play. This photo is taken at an angle and close up so you can see the height of tiles stacked on top of each other. The board is a map of hexagonal spaces filled with tiles, as well as meeples and temples built up in layers.
An overhead shot of the board game Cuzco. The board is bordered by a score track. In the middle is a map of hexagonal spaces, some of which have tiles placed on top. The tiles are stacking and overlapping each other. On top.of the tiles there are meeples and temples.
Blown away by my first play of Cuzco today. One of the best times I've ever had playing a game.
I slept on Kramer & Kiesling's Mask Trilogy for far too long. In the past month I've played all 3. Cuzco & Mexica in particular are just totally spectacular. Thrilling from start to finish.

Another awesome episode!
Congratulations!! 🍁
Screenshot of a post from Donald Trump: A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!
The President of the United States is openly threatening to commit genocide against 90 million people.
Prime Minister Carney: if there was ever a moment to denounce this illegal war, withdraw your support, and call for accountability for war crimes—it’s now.
Yeah the cloth board has been causing some problems. I'm hoping if I iron it delicately it will be fine.
I'm surprised not to see a board option for Gingham. The folds in those cloth boards have been even more of an issue for me with stacks falling over.
They are great games, though.
I'm excited for the Gazebo draw bags! That was a nice surprise to see today. Torn on the boards though, I like the more compact box.
Beautiful work on both of these! They are lovely to look at.
An image generated by BG Stats showing my board game plays over the past week. The games and number of plays each are as follows: 7: Trinket Trove; 3: Linko; 2: Flamecraft Duals; 2: The Yellow House; 2: Otter; 2: Patchwork; 2: Azure; 2: Penguin Party; 2: SCOUT; 1: Moytura; 1: Kahuna; 1: Piñatas; 1: Lost Cities; 1: Botswana; 1: Royal Visit; 1: Quarto; 1: Agent Avenue; 1: Toy Battle; 1: High Tide.
It was a big week of games for me. My husband and I spent most of the long weekend playing, as is tradition!
Azure and Moytura were new to me this week and both gave a very strong first impression.
My only complaint with this game so far is visibility. The map gets filled up as the game progresses which can sometimes make it difficult to parse for important pieces of info. And I wish the god tiles had iconography to depict their powers. Fairly minor issues though and the game is stunning.
A photo of the board for the game Moytura in the middle of a game. A map of Ireland is depicted split up into various regions of different cours and spaces within those regions. The spaces are occupied by tokens for each of the two players, as well as by tokens representing 3 different clans of monsters. One space per region shows the points available for winning majority of the region.
We tried out Moytura for the first time today. Another awesome entry into @bitewinggames.bsky.social's Mythos Collection. I had a great time with it & could tell I was only scratching the surface of the possibilities this game has to offer.
I lost in a tie to the monsters, though! Unforgiveable.
Spending the day surrounded by Sandara Tang's art is about as good as it gets tbh. Both are such fun games that have been recent favourites for us.
Occasionally I stubbornly tell my husband we're going to play the same game over and over again until I win it.
So anyways, we played Trinket Trove 7 times today. And I finally got my first win, on our 14th ever play.
Gladly Flamecraft Duals only took 2 attempts. I won on our 10th play so far.
I do love 2p games! Mandala is fantastic. Have you tried Patterns? It uses the Mandala scoring system in a very exciting new way.
I've only played High Tide a couple times so far but I am very impressed with it.
Your new game Cats & Dragons looks charming and fun, by the way!
